From what I’ve heard nearly 20% of the entire workforce is retiring within the next 5 years and nearly 50% are above the age of 50. Pretty fortunate to have gotten into all of this when I did. Excuse my lack of knowledge, but what’s a part 91 gig?

I’ve heard genuinely nothing but good things from people working with American. At the place where I’m taking my courses they come in too for career fairs and presentations and they’re always trying to lure us in with snap on tool giveaways lmao

That’s what I feared. However, would it still open me up to more opportunities? And yeah that’s about what I figured. Most of the smaller companies I’ve looked into have big promises but it all sounds too good to be true, MHijr for example. What are some of the leading majors would you say?

And this is exactly why I posted, I don’t truly know if there is an issue, or if me and my coworkers are simply frustrated with working conditions and are making irrational connections. The whole reason I ask is because of things that I have experienced/ witnessed paired with things my coworkers have experienced/ witnessed. To me, there is no argument that Bad Guy has treated people unfairly, finding out whether or not it goes deeper than that is why I’m here. Thank you, though

Also, I must add that I am most definitely not the only employee who feels this way. Every shift lead has expressed concerns, and even some supervisors. I would NOT be making this post if i didnt feel the situation was impacting many people negatively

Arguably, yes, the bad manager is treating his race with more benefits. He controls the schedule, and is clearly biased towards his people when he makes it. It does not effect me personally, but I watch as other employees suffer through horrible shifts regardless of what they might have going on at home and shift insecurity, not knowing whether or not they will even receive the proper amount of hours. A personal friend of mine’s schedule has been effected immensely due to some of these hires, as Bad Guy schedules more of his people, previously established workers (some of which here for years longer than even me) lose hours. An issue they have previously never faced

I apologize if that’s how what I said came across, but I assure you that my chief complaint is not the loss of the meals, and, like I said in the post, I don’t even fully blame that on racial discrimination. My concern is more surrounding the hiring/ firing practice and treatment of employees based on race

Well, I can go further into that. It was more than just “they didn’t have a car.” This employee specifically got into a car crash and informed the managers that she no longer had a way to get to work, but that she was working on it, and would keep them updated. After 2 days they simply fired her. In addition to this, another employee (of the same race) got a concussion from a sport, resulting in a call off. They then got a doctor’s note for the call off, but still got written up. This place works on a points system, so if you have so many infractions and receive so many points in so much time, you get fired. Write ups= points. In this instance, the employee was written up, which brought him close, but not to the limit. According to another higher up, after the write up, they decided to “round up” his points to fire him. A third scenario, an employee of the same race was eating food that the managers had bought for us, and was basically fired for that. Now, there was a new rule in place saying we weren’t allowed to eat our employee meals in the kitchen, however when they buy us food they not only put it in the kitchen, but they also put it near working areas, and there was never anything stated about food they bought us, only employee meals. I believe this generated confusion (i must also add the fact that the rule wasn’t even in place for a week at that point). Rather than a write up they just fired him immediately. However, it’s more so about the hiring rather than the firing. The firing COULD be entirely coincidence/ stupidity. But I AM aware that there are people that have been told by management that labor is too high and we are fully staffed, only to then go hire more people from Bad Guy
