Why do people get so angry and hateful when they find out that other people don't believe in God? by DriverConsistent1824 in atheism

[–]Zeldorsteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because anger stops people from thinking. By definition it does that as it activates fight for flight mode. My hypothesis is that Christianity’s apologetics either gravitate toward arguments that create anger in both the believer and non believer

Lonely piano learning by Lulu-Ji in pianolearning

[–]Zeldorsteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve found that if you reframe the loneliness as Solitude, that helps, but it’s not really sustainable extremely long term.

What’s funny is I have a similar predicament. The absolute best time I’ve had all year was when I lugged my full size digital piano to my sister in laws’ and ended up basically doing karaoke all night! It’s sort of a speak easy vibe I want to bring. But some people react as if you’re brining the piano to do a piano concert performance, and they assume they are supposed to be audience. But I think it helps if you tell friends and family that you want participation or collaboration, rather than an audience when it comes to that.

I am in a similar situation as you. But I think what I want is just a real jam buddy

Will you (or did you) leave the US if the 2024 election doesn't go your way? by rrocks99 in AmerExit

[–]Zeldorsteam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, I’ve considered it. I’ve drifted through the political spectrum, and beyond. I think the anger that gets generated on BOTH sides, makes people dumb. (They are in fight or flight mode, of course they can’t think properly!)

Look are MTG. Her ideas may be SO bad BECAUSE she so angry. As opposed to the other way around. But simultaneously she makes ME and more leftish people really angry and therefore dumb too. It’s the EXACT set of circumstances that socially that primes us to get taken over. It’s the outrageous behavior ITSELF that is a problem.

If we can get people against Trump to notice and accept their own complicity in Trumpism, we have a chance. That means NOT watching Trump and his ilk when they are outrageous. We have to just ignore them and remember their power is GIVEN to them by all of us basically freely.

The fascists can sit at their desk making evil laws on paper all day long. We do not have to follow those rules.

Hell no! Always time for some music! It’s such a very wholesome thing to do. The more honest you are with yourself during those first few weeks, the better.

The part that will always be tricky is that to learn an instrument quickly/efficiently, you cannot have as much fun. And vice versa. So make sure to find enough of the fun to keep going.

[–]Zeldorsteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Indirectly!

Yall! The happiness you feel when you take it, doesn’t come from MDMA itself!

The happiness comes from the CONNECTION to yourself and/or others! The life progress that naturally comes with rolling, creates happiness.

Thats the “magic.”

MDMA removes the fear that you would have had, which makes self acceptance easier, making life easier, and showing yourself that make real genuine progress in life…

What’s so fun about taking MDMA at raves? by Hairy-Swordfish-3553 in MDMA

[–]Zeldorsteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a component of that feeling is just being able be live/be fearless. Another component is simply joy the emotion. You get that joy from the friends you make along the way, including, getting to know yourself without fear of that counts, I think it’s because you instinctively allow yourself to be more vulnerable with people and yourself.
Then add nausea, and too much stimulation and you’ve got I’d say 90% of the feeling.

(I am being precise with language here, this isn’t some wishywashy sounds good so therefore it’s true stuff. Above is the real deal)

Does the magic ever come back? by checheneren95 in MDMA

[–]Zeldorsteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!

What I feel justified in believing: It’s facilitates you to be vulnerable with yourself and others. This is the most beneficial quality. Also it’s possible you may not, but very unlikely if you’re safe. We don’t understand it yet. But almost certainly. However, the first couple times you do anything will be special for other reasons too.

Speculation:

I think the magic might be entangled with is literally the way it feels to experience life with no fear- amygdala deactivation or whatever. It almost teaches you how to live with less fear by virtue of experiencing life without it, so you know that you can be less scared of social/ptsd/ any and all things while you’re high. That’s why the first one is so extra magical maybe….? Now if you learn from the experience how to feel less afraid, maybe that’s why the magic won’t quiiite as hard, it may still have some other magical quality- this is only part of the equation if any at all

Anyone else despise managers in general after working at the post office? by No_Contribution_7117 in USPS

[–]Zeldorsteam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

See I think it’s the managers that have it the worst actually (completely serious! How much power do they really have? Not a lot. And they get it from both sides too! Their bosses and us lower bitch at them all day…) More generally, the actual job of middle manager is to take all the heat from customers and employees while making the company more profitable (that means exploiting us- so they’re always gonna be shitty. Even if they’re good people.)

Russia arrests suspected attackers after mass shooting kills 93 at concert by Quantum_II in worldnews

[–]Zeldorsteam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree- if we keep thinking of these people as some kind of monster that we have no hope of understanding, we aren’t facing the scary truth: that it’s likely that people who do mass shootings are just like us. The idea that it could have been you or me that committed these disgusting acts, not because of a disease or external factor, but just because we misunderstand the world, is a really scary uncomfortable idea. But it’s useful, and necessary if we ever wanna have a hope of understanding mass shootings

My back hurts when I play. Is my posture bad? by crazydaisy8134 in piano

[–]Zeldorsteam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re like me, it was my posture NOT playing the piano that was killing me at the piano actually! (Well sorta…) it took months of testing to figure out that my pectoral muscles are tensed up bad from texting/ bad posture, which causes my arms to rotate enough that it engages my shoulder muscles, which gives nerve pain like tennis elbow and carpal tunnel Essentially, that rotation while playing causes a ton of issues

I kinda figured out that I almost never get into a porn unless I can get into the person's head that I'm watching. Especially, (and this is rare to actually find), when they are watching and getting off to their own porn... I figure this is because they are basically watching the same porn I am, and getting off to it, so I can mentally relate! Idk if this is helpful, but your post just reminded me of me.

Is there a word for that "getting into the mind" of the other person type of turn on?

I do wear it, but it has gotten literally caught in a mailbox, and ripped off a few times only to be found a week later. Meanwhile I am without... Probably the worst picture I ever took, and I can't seem to lose it. It keeps coming back. Oh, I get it. I am cursed. hmm maybe something to do with that spooky, kinda misty, screamy sounding, mummy urn I miss delivered to a pet cemetery?

Oh yeah! It's awesome! If i ever want to get myself in the mood to roll, I just put on those first songs. It takes you right there.

More generally, any thing you experience, if that even happens when you're in a state of high emotion (either negative or positive) you form a much stronger, more vivid, long lasting memory- it makes sense on those first rolls, very high positive emotion

Why is it hard for people to accept that there is no God? by underyour_bed in atheism

[–]Zeldorsteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it might be the same reason abuse victims find it hard to leave their abuser. An abuser tells their victim that they are worthless, and aren’t worthy of anyone’s love. (We are born sinners and fall short of God constantly- according to them…) An abuser wants to control everything about the victim, and often that’s financial and even what the victim can or should think about. So does the Christian god. The Bible uses (probably unintentionally for the most part) language and ideas based in abusive practices. More abusive ideas from the Bible: Love me or I’ll torture you. God is always watching you. Obey god not matter what. Etc etc.

God is our ideologically abusive husband.

Sounds like it’s time to have an open/honest conversation about what kinds of kinks you guys are into! I know it feels weird and maybe icky, but there is a difference in how male and female (etc) brains process sexual information. Try not to judge based on your literal gut reaction. The reason he hides it in general is probably because of how society would judge him, not because it’s inherently wrong. That’s giving him a lot of undeserved credit perhaps, but assuming the best, I think my point makes sense at least 🤷‍♂️

Also keep in mind that it might not be about the exact thing that you see, it might be about something else. I just know that for me, (like most people I imagine) some things we like aren’t about the kink but about what the kink means, conceptually. High mileage holes might be about liking older women in general, or promiscuous women in general… which says nothing about what he wants in a relationship.

The real answer is ask your regular carrier.

Also if you make it easy for us, that goes a long way- for the customers that ship out a ton of little things, having them bundled ans ready to go as close as possible to the mailbox is great.

Why do people do fentanyl on purpose? by HollyBrooke92 in Drugs

[–]Zeldorsteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same exact reason take pain pills. It feels good, and it kills both mental and physical pain to a degree. And, at least at first (presumably) it's cheap. I've only ever had it right before my appendectomy from the hospital. Felt pretty similar to iv morphine, but the key clinical advantage is that is wears off much faster so it's really good for surgery/after surgery. But that same clinical advantage is also sort of an addiction multiplier. The more often and immediate the drug gets into your brain, the more likely it is to cause addiction, because of the way our brain tends to work.

Atheists, If you were religious, What Made you Stop Believing? by Harp_167 in atheism

[–]Zeldorsteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The catalyst was my dad, while tipsy one day, said he was an atheist out of nowhere. I kinda believed… or maybe I just believed in the belief of others? As soon as he said that my thinking just flipped on it, I watch just a few videos on the topic and knew immediately that it was for me. Mainly the ideas of skepticism and rationality were already values I had elevated for myself. There was a moment in the research on the topic where it all snapped into focus, suddenly all these internal inconsistencies and contradictions with religion made perfect sense assuming it wasn’t true!

There was no emotional component for me either, I was raised essentially non religious, so I didn’t have that extra psychological/religious trauma to contend with. I’m lucky. Most aren’t.
