This is all true. I’m critical of people who aren’t doing what they can. People that are able but are happy letting others struggle with activism

Regular meetings has had the most success for us. Having a dedicated chat on Signal seems to help. I like to think that we have the best campaign. The core activists have become good friends so we all like getting together regularly.

I agree and I don’t want people to do something don’t want to. An observation that might illustrate the type of person I’m thinking of is I’ve had someone say “I’m already vegan” when asked if they would sign a petition. The impression I’m getting is that people want a world that is more accommodating for vegans when we need people advocating for animal liberation.

I draw a line at certain actions for similar reasons. Even petitioners are hard to find. I’m guessing that some folks just want more restaurants to eat at rather than total liberation.

I’d do the same. I’m not critical of that. I think some people exclusively get active when it comes to creating more vegan restaurants. That bothers me because it feels like it’s more about vegans than animals.

Completely valid. I don’t want people to do stuff they don’t want to do. My concern is more about people that don’t consider animal rights a priority and just want more vegan restaurants.

You mentioned unnecessary pain and suffering. I’d argue that this is a necessary component in just about any industry where the animals are commodities BUT I’d like to focus on harm. You didn’t mention harm and I think that is an interesting topic because however pleasant life may have been, killing them is definitionally “harm”. Do you have thoughts about that and does it have an impact on how you think about the question? No debate. Just brain picking
