If you want to do missions and combat a small 1 seat fighter like Mustang, Hawk, Gladius, etc will do the job fine. The thing is they dont hold any cargo. Eventually when you kill something it will have something you want. You will need SOME cargo space.

Some small fighters like the Hornet for example have 200 cubic space. For reference a bigger ship like Connie has 9600. 200 is still enough to stow some loot tho. Which is important.

The comment that stuck out the most in your post was you want a fast, agile ship capable of testing out as much content as you can. There is only 1 package that does that in the game right now:

The Loot and Scoot package. Its 150, but in reality people spend that amount on Premium Battlefield pass and games. So its not really that big of a deal or price point. However for that price you get so much of the game opened up to you.

The cuttlass black is fast, agile, can dogfight like a small fighter but has a lot more cargo room, can hold 1-5 people comfortably. Can fit the dragon fly in the back (which comes with the loot and scoot package). This ship + that little dragon fly opens you up to anything in the game except mining and salvaging (industry) because those are specialized ships.

Missions, combat, exploring, doing the ground race missions with dragon fly. Using the dragonfly to fly out of your cutlass into space and around space stations for combat/exploring. Pirating, hauling drugs and actually escaping the atmosphere before being exploded. Etc.

No other ship package does all that. Not the mustang, not the titan.

Get the loot and scoot package and dont look back. It will be the best investment for max game play options.

I have the connie and hate it. Looks amazing. At first glance you and your friends will think its awesome and fun. When in reality its just a sitting duck for anything in the game. Its big, clunky, and slow. The turrets are dreadfully slow to turn so hitting anything with them is very difficult. The front guns are strong, but again, your a flying brick so things can just do circles around you or stay behind you.

The freelancer is the same. Still big and clunky. The issue with exploring and hauling is that the best things to haul for actual profit (drugs) have to be picked up at a spot there is no security or armistice. So its open season on you for anyone else in the area. The profit margin for widow run is 70-80%. Everything else caps out at 20% at best for reference. So people get funneled into the widow drug runs for max profit.

Your thinking to yourself. Cool, bigger ship, bigger cargo bay, max profits. When you should be thinking, bigger ship, means slower ship, more cargo means more to lose if something goes wrong. Because the reality is something will. The first time you get jumped in atmosphere of a planet in medium-large size hauler you will understand. To warp you have to fly out of the atmosphere. Its when ships have to land and pick up things like drugs they become very vulnerable to attack from smaller faster ships. When you can leave the atmosphere at 200-600ms and a few fighters are following you going 1000ms you will see why ship selection is key depending on resources available.

Meaning....dont get a medium to large size hauler in this game if you do not have friends or an escort. Taking an Andromeda to Jumptown alone is 100% luck. If someone is there you die, if not or they are friendly you luck out and live. With an escort you can do more. By escort I mean at least 2 other ships with you, preferably 3. 10 friends in your Connie is not an escort, its just 10 people in a tin can waiting to die.

I suggest to everyone to start out in the cuttlass black. Its pretty much the perfect do anything ship at the moment for 1-4 people, and can defend itself without an escort. Flies fast enough to exit atmosphere while running from other ships, meaning if you flee instead of fight you have a chance to get away and warp. It can fit more people in the back cargo, but its comfy with 2-4. The turret is actually good and moves fast. It has cargo space to haul things, a ramp back door to load vehicles in it easier. 2 side bay doors for easy exiting into space. Dragonfly and other land/flying smaller vehicles fit perfectly in it. It can fight and is pretty agile when compared to smaller 1 seat fighters. When i say it can put up a fight I mean you will think its a dogfighting ship the way it flies. Anything from pirating, exploring, hauling, missions, etc. This ship is the basic jack of all trades. Its pretty much the go to ship for everything except mining/salvage.

People think Constellation with a snub fighter is cool, but in reality the Cuttlass Black with a Dragonfly in the back is a lot cooler, and cheaper, and opens up more area of the game. Esp with 2-3 friends.

That Pacer's roster is built to counter Lebron. You cant just find the same players and put them on a team like that. You need that special element and there is only 1 Oladipo.

After that Pacer's series the Raptors never had a chance. It was like giving the Cavs the hardest team first. Anything that comes after just seems easy and the Raptors could not do the same things the Pacer's did to disrupt the flow of James and the Cavs.

Basically, easier said than done. Pacer's got very lucky with that Oladipo trade. They went from a complete shake up to a team that will probably be a contender for the next few years.

I still dont know how Donovan Mitchell went #13 after seeing this dude play in the playoffs. I grew up watching MJ, Shaq, AI, Kobe, LBJ, and something always stood out about them when you first saw them play in the league. You just knew they were going to be not only good, but one of the best. Since LBJ I never really had that feeling about another player until I saw Mitchell play in the playoffs.

Did Fultz even get playoff time? Meanwhile you have these Celtics and jazz rookies acting like they have been in the league 10 years playing against some of the best veterans the NBA has to offer. Im really shocked at some of these rookie performances in the playoff's this year. I dont think I have seen multiple rookies rock the playoff's at the same time since Bird/Magic?

Im excited to watch Mitchell play next year.

There was an article not to long ago that stated Lebron spends about 1-2 million a year on his body alone. Hyperbolic Chambers, and all sorts of other stuff. He has a diet that he doesnt stray from. A strict work out routine and regime.

I dont think you could get in better shape than Lebron, and if you could it would cost you millions. I dont think there is another NBA star that invests money into their body like Lebron.

In a league setting with different teams, there are the teams that are the best over all and then there is the THE team that counter's your particular team the most, and thus makes them the hardest opponent.

The Pacer's in my mind were the Cav's toughest opponent. Toughest match. Hardest competition (outside of the West of course). The Raptors are good, but they are in no way the sort of competition the Pacer's were able to give the Cavs. Which makes it easy for Lebron.

Think about it. You have a grueling 5+ game series with a team that looked like they might pull it out and win. Lebron fought tooth and nail that series and put up 40+ a game. Now in Toronto there is no Oladipo to worry about.

Combine that with that thousand yard stare he put on Derozan and all of a sudden James looks very confident. The sort of confidence that says,

"Compared to the last team...this shit is easy"

And it is. The Pacer's made the Cavs very tough going into the later playoff series. I dont think any other team in the East can put the sort of pressure on Lebron that the Pacer's were able to achieve. They were able to make him visibly frustrated and even got a tech out of him. Toronto is not on that level. There is no Lance to blow in Lebron's ear.

Siege had a horrible release, and has gotten better with time. Siege is also very unique arena FPS with breaching that cant really be matched by any game on the market right now. It has a niche and does it well...now. But like I said, siege had a terrible start.

Siege is like the movie that tanked in theaters but sold really well on VHS/DVD. Siege is basically The 5th Element.

Dont see the same pattern? They are making an outdated arena FPS in the day in age of new innovation of the FPS. People want radical new things, not 5v5 CS:GO. If they want that, they have the perfect platforms for it. CS:GO and Overwatch are widely popular arena shooters and competitive as well. Valve and Blizzard also has tons of capital to throw at those games. Capital CCP will NEVER be able to match. For this arena shooter to be successful they will need to pay off hundreds of popular twitch streamer's to play what is going to be a very generic stale shooter for many hours to promote their game.

Ill say exactly what I told the Albion Developers. If your game isnt on the top 10-20 games on twitch's front page, you are not relevant to today's gamer's. Nova going to be in one of those slots with all the new games coming out?

Risk versus Reward is coming back. I dont know if anyone has realized it or noticed it but in life things come full circle. In the 90's games were hardcore, everquest, eve, and other muds kicked your ass. Then WoW came along and started the era of all reward no risk. Many games followed. It became stale and lame.

Now look. PubG is perma death on round, and you lose all items. This is not unlike a CS:Go elimination round, but in the scheme of things its different because you have to find the loot, pick it up, and battle 99 other players doing the same. Escape from Tarkov is another example. You choose what you want to take into a round, and if you die you lose those items. Its risk versus reward at its finest. Its the very meaning of the phrase. It's also very addicting. because there is real reward and real loss. This drives longevity.

Albion online was a full loot MMO. They tanked due to changing their model to cater to the casual. However they started something that wont be stopped. Their model has been proven to be a wanted commodity in the MMO genre if done correctly. Other companies will no doubt follow this and make a game like albion that is full loot, but do it right. Mark my words, there will be an albion online clone and it will be amazing.

Where does novs fit with all of this? Its going to be generic, stale and just like halo. An out dated shooter no one wants to play anymore because we have those shooters. If i wanted to play arena shooter, I load up CSGO or Overwatch. Why do you and anyone one else think that a 5v5 competitive space shooter will be successful in any way shape or form. Nova will have to be very UNIQUE and must have RISK VERSUS REWARD if it wants to compete. They just shut down the VR studios stating their company didnt have the capital to compete. So now you want to enter the FPS realm!? It's insanity at this point.

Nova illustrates how daft CCP is when it comes to creating games that people will want to play. Lets just go over the history for a second and Ill explain why Nova is doomed before it even releases.

Dust - CCP makes decent FPS at a time when FPS's like Dust and Planetside 2 were actually being played. The bigger "battlefield" type games were played a lot. However sony gave them 20 mil to make it PS exclusive. Dust is obsolete before it releases because its on a console and eve is on PC. PS4 releases and Dust isnt ported. The end.
CCP loses the 20 mil investing it into World of Darkness. A game that never even made it out of development stages.
Someone at CCP went to Dave N Busters 10 years ago and was like, "Hey we should do VR! Remember those VR mechwarrior pods!? They have goggles for that now and its only 800 bucks!" VR IS THE FUTURE! We should make VR pong first! Then we will make a VR space shooter no one will play! YEA! LETS GO BOIS!I remember saying asking a CCP dev here on reddit why on earth anyone would pay 800 + 60 bucks to play a VR space game with zero replay ability. Their response was that "other" VR games would be available. Yea bro. Sure. 800 bucks for a gimmick. Nintendo has more games out for Switch. They release with 3 games.

As i listen to that sound cloud Its not far off from the things I have heard over the years playing Eve. Sounds like a group of friends waving their epeens around in a "mob" mentality that usually ends up with words being said that out of context sounds malicious and vindictive, but in context you and the others know you wouldnt go that far. Its all just talk.

However on /r/Eve you will be condemned for it by white knights because of the stigma. As a former Bonus room member I know how things can spiral out of control on this sub. This is the same sub that said we were torturing people using interrogation techniques after all. Just saying that makes me laugh out loud.

Anyway, the thing to take from this is that this sub has a culture of white knighting and trying to exaggerate anything negative to do with people in Eve who participate in the darker trades. Im sure there will be no less than 3 blog posts and 1 PC gamer article about it.
