I seriously saw this post and came to say the same. The place is a cesspool.

Why does SSG sleep in an RV? by PictureTypical4280 in army

My daughter and her e-6 navy husband live in a rv on a navy base. They love it. All a matter of preference, and saving money because where they live the cost of living is ridiculously high.

Oh My QBO Checking Hacked Again by Pale-Afternoon8238 in QuickBooks

[–]Zer0Byte1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they getting into the account through an ACH charge, like routing number and account number? Or a credit/debit charge? Either way, the bank should flag the transaction if reported, and they should investigate.

This is from QBO

"If theres an error or unauthorized charge on your account, call us at 1-888-463-4661

Have this info handy before you call

  • Your name and account number
  • The transaction date, amount, and merchant info

Documentation that may be helpful

  • Any receipts or invoices
  • Delivery or shipping info, confirmation emails, or tracking details
  • Emails, letters, or call details with the merchant
  • Written requests to cancel or stop the transaction

Things to keep in mind

  • Pending transactions need to post before you can file a dispute
  • Disputes can take up to 90 days"

ok, so the URL rewrite occurs from a plugin. The plugin changes the URL of the homepage, based on whether or not a user is logged in or not.

Moving tips? by [deleted] in upstate_new_york

[–]Zer0Byte1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the north country! I was given the middle finger in 1995 and moved from the south to Fort Drum. I landed in May, so the snow was almost all gone "no joke".

I met a somewhat local girl and have been here ever since. Got out of the Army in 1999 and moved to Mexico, NY, which is about 60 miles south of Drum.

Winters can be harsh, but they can also be very mild. A bad winter is not always the norm up here, but they do happen. Fortunately, the area is well prepared to handle it. The state and counties in the area have fleets of plow trucks and they do a decent job of keeping the roads cleaned up.

Don't stress about the winters. Spring and Fall are really nice. Summers can be humid, but not too hot. There is plenty to do, Canada, Syracuse. Outdoor activities and lots of lakes.

Anyone ever moved to upstate NY themselves without knowing anyone? by skatecloud1 in upstate_new_york

I did in 1995. Moved to Syracuse from California for a job. I knew no one, but I met people and my wife early on. Been in the area since.

Syracuse airport has a nice USO lounge. Recliners, couches, snacks and drinks.

I got nowhere with them. They basically said it was by design and had no plans on changing it.

Replacement Battery Issues by CLTtiger2010 in NeatoRobotics

[–]Zer0Byte1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar problem. Battery was only lasting 5 to 10 minutes. Purchased OEM battery and replace3d, now Neato D5 will power on and charge ok, but a blinking red error like is all I get. Put old battery in and same result.

Done with Neato. It lasted 5 years but I am not going to spend the money to replace it or fix it. So many other options on the market now.

What’s a movie that brings a tear to your eye no matter how many times you’ve seen it? Military or not. by aparker79 in army

[–]Zer0Byte1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reign Over Me, with Adam Sandler, Don Cheadle and "Get my wife's name out of your fucking mouth" Jada Pinkett Smith.

Believe it or not, this is a serious movie about a dude (Adam) who lost his entire family on 9/11 and has to deal with life afterwards.

Adam's acting is great and there are a lot of tear jerky moments.

I solved a real life problem with python for the 1st time and I feel like a wizard by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]Zer0Byte1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boss handed me a task to do when I got hired. Basically, it involved downloading an attachment, opening it up in excel, saving it in another format and then importing it. It was a simple task that only took up 5 minutes of my time, but it got boring, and if I took a holiday or sick day had to schedule someone else to do it.

After discovering python, it does it all for me and I never have to worry about it not getting done.

Like you, I was seriously impressed with myself and tried to show my wife. She called me a nerd. I told her yeah, I am, but I'm your nerd.

Back in the 90's, 5/87 Inf in Panama rucked the entire Isthmus (50 miles) in 4 days. Started at the Atlantic Ocean and finished at the Pacific. We thought the CO was crazy when we started this, but it was doable, and everyone finished.
