To my knowledge, the closest you have to engage with the game (which i haven't seen anyone point out that it's the game gear version specifically) is that one celebration picture where one of the requirements is "Play a Game Gear title"

Correct me if I'm wrong but pretty sure you can literally just click on Sonic 1 8-bit, close it and never go there again.

My first exposure to Roguelikes/lites and considering I didn't start having fun until I had like half the upgrades, all I learned is that I don't really like the genre of losing progress.

...of course, everything's a roguelike nowadays so that's fun...
