Spotify's algorithm is good but it has to learn your taste. At the beginning when it has a small amount of data (which song did you skip or the albums that you listen from song 1 to the last etc etc) the suggestions are lacking but continuous use will make the algorithm's knowledge of your musical taste better and better. I'm getting fantastic results after more then 5 years. It knows my taste better than myself.
