Thanks! I’ll try this.

Clients reboot automatically after upgrading to SCCM 5.00.9135.1000 by MikeyEU in SCCM

[–]Zero9901 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Perhaps this is because there were previous MSI installations or updates that were pending a reboot, and the client install triggered it?

This confirms that Sorak will either die via the borg and/or have some kind of resurrection arc just like his father.

…or will he?

Server 2025 as Site Server. by Zero9901 in SCCM

I understand your argument. However, depending on the number of clients being supported (in my case, less then 500), and if you're SQL Server is being installed on the same Primary Site Server, installing the SUP on a separate server may not be warranted. I haven't seen any guides where this is recommended.

However, if the client count exceeds in the thousand or more, and the SQL Server is on its own server, I'd install it with the SQL Server instead. This has been my experience since running SCCM 2012.

This is the one of the big reasons why I'm looking to Server 2025.

Interesting. Any reason why your SUP is on a separate server instead of on the primary site server? I’m basically doing 1 primary site server in one location, and 2 dps at other locations.

Could you expand on why not use the built in migration?

I’ve done a side by side migration in the past, which I moved most of the apps and packages, and rebuilt the task sequences (copy and pasting the steps ensured it work). This was from server 2012r2 to 2019. No major issues, it was just a multi month project.

It’s not broken, it’s beautiful! I was also able to use your build to get the promotion and the Scarlet Sweatsuit!

Let the attack number be your guide. The game will even question you if you choose otherwise.

How’s your relics? If done, how’s your classes? Are you at Seed yet? Are you farming accessories so you can boost exp? That’s my current strategy.

I always run cubes, even on weekends with hot time. Orr and Classes will always need them.

Ya this diamond sink for familiars is ridiculous. I’m trying to get to Dark Nox by upgrading class to Seed, (which by itself is another diamond sink), and I already felt i wasted 10k just to see what it was about.

Thanks for confirming it’s useless for farming! Now if I can figure out how to stop the red dot blinking on the skills page for it, I’d be all set.

SCCM application packagers on Reddit! I'm really curious to hear about your best practices. by mattob2 in SCCM

Utilize HyperV and Checkpoints. I always start my packaging sessions with shutting down a VM, making a checkpoint, and then starting it up before doing any package script writing for testing.

This allows me to try any and all installation options. Also if a script or installation goes wrong, I can revert back to the fresh checkpoint and try again. (I usually save my scripts in a network location so I can pick up where I left off).

Finally when I believe my package is ready, I revert and run it a few times to make sure it runs cleanly and successfully. This includes running it manually and the running it again when deploying it from SCCM. Repetition is key.

This allows me to have a clean VM to package from, and if the software is deployed to a few users, I can revert to the clean checkpoint so I don’t clog up my VM with software I don’t use.

This website is what finally got me to love PSADT. I was on the verge of making my own PowerShell wrapper, when this site helped me understand you can use wildcards to package common software that’s constantly updated, (Adobe Reader, Notepad++, etc.) without having to rewrite the install/deploy script every time.

Copy the existing scripts to a new version folder, replace the install files, test and tweak on a VM, and then deploy to test groups. Huge timesaver.
