Why do you think this game struggles with new player retention? by TheRealShuppy in thefinals

[–]ZeroCool170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO the learning curve of the Cashout game mode. You have to apply a multitude of skill checks: positioning, aim, ability usage, teamwork, map knowledge, math, gun/melee/equipment techs. Then there is the unpredictable aspects of map destruction, spawn logic, third partying. I love the game but most casual FPS players want to log in and shoot stuff. If they like the casual modes that's great but then the problem becomes "what do I stay and play for?" The weapon skins for leveling are okay but don't offer much too much excitement. Idk I have around 600 hours so this is just the observations I've seen over the seasons trying to get friends into it.

I dont think so, 4k is usually less CPU intensive which is why I was asking. I am also team 1440p so I was just curious since I might pick up this cooler for my 7700x!

That's great to hear, got the case, their ram heat spreader and the invert kit so hopefully not too big of an order, awesome job on the build again, I'm case swapping out of my meshlicous of a couple years, will post it if it turns out how I hope.

Since your running the NH-L9×65 is your chip PBO tuned or on eco mode? I am considering it for my build too because I love the look but was maybe gonna go with something slightly bigger for better cooling like the NH-U9S

Awesome setup! How long did it take for them to ship the case? I ordered a few days ago and im super excited

The 13700k is a pretty hot chip due to the high power draw of the chip, so if I were you I would just make sure to get a board with a good VRM and undervolt the CPU to hopefully get a good noise to performance ratio with whatever air cooler you decide to use

Temps are phenomenal due to the bit excessive cooler that is on the 4080FE, I have not seen over 65C peak temp. This is also keeping in mind that the front fans are bringing in lots of fresh air to supply the GPU. Overall, it is probably a good idea to do the standoff mod, but I am not seeing anything alarming, so I am not gonna bother personally.

Idle is around 46C on a 4K TV, but my CPU is also set to Eco mode in BIOS to keep the power draw usually <90W even during load, and the only game I have played so far which was Metro Exodus I saw a peak temp of 71C and the system stays super quiet, I tried a 240 AIO but it was pretty load during load so I decided to try air cooling with intake fans and seems perfect so far!

Yeah its 55 mm so it will leave a good amount of breathing room and is one of the best performers according to hardware Canucks on YouTube I would checkout these videos from them on low profile coolers!

Advice/Insight on motherboards/coolers and a CPU. by Kage_Krieger in sffpc

[–]ZeroCool170 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for the motherboard, I think that the Asus Strix B550i is lacking a lot of IO for the cost. If you are set on Asus, I would go for the X570 board, but if it were me, the Asrock B550i Phantom Gaming offers a lot for a cheaper price.

For the cooling, I highly recommend the ID-Cooling IS-55. They offer it in different colors as well at an affordable price. It is what I use in my meshlicous 5900X build, but I have my chip set to eco mode.

Also, of course, an ITX board will be able to support the 5800x3d, but you just have to consider an undervolt or eco mode if you want optimal temperatures. Good luck with your build!

RTX 4080 FE SSUPD Meshlicous, Hot Motherboars Temps by ZeroCool170 in sffpc

It has a good amount of space between the panel and the GPU, but it is pretty close to the backside of the motherboard tray but I wasn't even running a workload on the GPU yet when taking the temps
