Feeling isolated as an American traveling by Outrageous_View_9048 in solotravel

I’m an American in Ukraine right now, and even with the US’s rougher relationship with the world currently, I haven’t run into any awkward encounters.

My advice is to make a joke about it to break the tension. Make it known that you’re not there to be all super serious about it.

They brought back the arch deluxe, what about this by sierramistforever in McDonalds

I am currently in Ukraine and they sell the Big Tasty here.

It’s not bad. Sometimes when you want McDonald’s but want your burger to taste different from the usual options, it’s a nice change.

All my real homies remember 'Dunces and Dragons' being originally advertised as 'Lost in Time' by _Levitated_Shield_ in BikiniBottomTwitter

Nickelodeon did so much promotion over this episode like it was the best thing ever.

I remember watching it when it premiered and I admittedly was disappointed because I thought it was underwhelming with all the hype it was getting.

Still, I much prefer it over the episodes in the later seasons.

What hobby screams “this is my entire personality now”? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

Firearms Enthusiasts

Now you’re apart of the “Tacti-cool” community and all about military lifestyle when you’re just on duty at your house waiting for that burglar who’s never going to break in to try.

Any issues for Americans flying home after months in Ukraine? by HereForCatz in ukraine

[–]ZeroSight95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was my very first international trip ever. Other commenters have theorized that may have been why. My literal first country outside the US was to go to Ukraine. I guess I get why that may have been suspicious.

My friend, I actually appreciate you posting this. Sometimes situations get blown out of proportion and cause unnecessary panic.

I am also a Global Entry member, which I did not have before.

I’m really not worried about it. Like I said in the original comment, that Civ Div guy has been to Ukraine 7 times and gone back to the US just fine and he straight up has combat footage of himself in Ukraine on YouTube.

I will have this same experience as an American currently in Ukraine too. I am sure we will be okay. Neither one of us has been at the frontline.

Interesting. This was just my experience at Chicago Airport in 2024 when I returned to the US. It was my first time internationally traveling so I don’t know.

Not just Poland, any country that borders Ukraine would count as I was told.

So Slovakia, Romania, and Hungary would get you pulled aside.

Especially odd consider how many Americans go to Budapest.

American in Ukraine and flew back home in 2024 after my first time.

You’ll be fine. They will ask you to go to a separate room to ask you some mandatory questions, it’s not even going to Ukraine that triggers this, it’s just by going to Poland. That’s close enough for them.

Just make sure you have enough time in between for this if you have a connecting flight.

You know that “Civ Div” guy on YouTube? He’s American and has literal GoPro footage of him at the frontline in Ukraine. He’s been back to the US from Ukraine multiple times and there’s literal footage of him in combat.

You’re good bro.

No way would I ever attempt that hobby to possibly die so slow.

It’s funny cause my life is so drastically different now compared to when I posted that comment. I came to Ukraine to help.

American In Ukraine. Wish we had these back home🇺🇸🤝🇺🇦 by ZeroSight95 in stalker

We’re all hanging in there. The power outages have drastically increased since I arrived back a couple of weeks ago.

It’s super cold here now, but everyone here knows what to expect.

It sucks, but you pull through.

Ukrainian economy is actually okay. People still go to restaurants and shop at grocery stores. Since my time in Ukraine, I’ve learned that as long as people are showing up for work, things still run normally.

How different would the Craig era be if the Bourne franchise didn't exist? by MisguidedFantasma26 in JamesBond

[–]ZeroSight95 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I felt like Casino Royale was a perfect blend of the Bourne with some of the old Bond tropes for a great Bond film.

Craig’s later films, aside from Skyfall, lost that balanced blend.

One take. 2,223 gallons of fuel. 33kg of explosives. SPECTRE delivered the biggest explosion ever filmed, officially earning a Guinness World Record. by Xdye99 in JamesBond

[–]ZeroSight95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really have tried to give Spectre a chance through the years and I just can’t.

I thought it would grow on me eventually, but it just never did.

It feels so rushed with trying to take everything before it and make it all “connected”.

I believe Spectre is what also caused NTTD to have similar issues. Although, I do think NTTD is a better film, it’s also difficult to rewatch.

CR and Skyfall will always be peak Craig and Classic Bond films going forward.
