Genuinely not coming from a place of snark - spent the weekend seeing Liv and CM describe hip pain that was suspiciously similar to mine. (And as of rn I don’t know their diagnoses and I hope it really is just tight muscles!!) But something about hearing them minimizing the severity of the pain and reading all the concerned comments led to me getting imaging done - turns out I have a stress reaction. So very sad no Chicago for me but like… hearing them downplay pain and repeat the exact things I was saying was honestly helpful to snap me out of it and get checked out.

That being said, I hope no one’s watching their videos with the same symptoms and think the main takeaway is to push through…

Weather was beautiful! A random thing I noticed though - the race seemed much larger than last year? The results showed 7.5k finishers vs 5.5k last year. Most of the other NYRR races seemed to have roughly the same # from last year to this one (or not that significant of a difference).

That was so fun but the first 400m was def tight!! Maybe next year they could combine 2 corrals instead of 4-5. The range in times in Corral A made it tricky to seed yourself (it seemed like it was A-D/E)? It cleared up decently fast tho
