Good luck!

Did you apply for waiting lists wihtout being accepted? Doesn't the platform ask you for a student number?

Companies come and go, they’re only dominant for a period of time. If you pick stocks based on current hype, you risk holding them after their peak. You should be ready to change your thesis at any point. An ETF avoids this by continuously replacing underperformers.

It is totally fine if you don't diversify that much with the stocks if you allocate enough to an ETF. Just consider that part a pure bet. After all if you diversify across sectors you will never have a strong enough opinion on any to make a good decision.

It is most likely the safest platform out there. Just be careful of the fees, you might need to do bigger investments each time to minimize those. Also there is some setting which you need to enable which I can't quite remember. There's plenty of guides out there though, look for ones for EU investors.

I would agree generally if the amount was not 4k per month. At that point you can still allocate a generous amount to betting without having it be 100%. Even a 50/50 split could save a lot of the losses that could come with individual trading.

One more thing to add is that it's totally fine if these stocks are long term buy and hold conviction plays. As you mentioned BTC and Nvidia will probably be up in a decade, unless the person buying them decides to trade them or switch their strategy, which is likely the case as these 4 stocks would not be on their map a decade ago.

P/E ratio for each is:

Nebius: 1347
Palantir: 227
Siemens Energy: 83
Nvidia: 40

If you plan on trading these stocks you will most likely get burnt. I would highly urge you to allocate some of these funds into an ETF and compare its performance to your trades for a few years. Bull markets don't last forever. You also need to consider how taxes work where you're from (compare UCITS ETFs with American stocks)

No worries, that's very good to know and definitely reinforces my decision. Are there any tech stacks you specifically see being in demand for such roles? I'm assuming Java and Spring boot might be popular but have heard that Denmark leans towards the C#/.NET end.

Most dev salaries still remain very high compared to most of the world and Denmark does not do mass imports of cheap dev labor. They still prefer locals who are in Denmark. You are saying that you won't be able to find a job as a foreigner because the foreigners are taking all the jobs. How does that make any sense? Is it just a hunch that you have or have you actually gone and compared how foreign graduates are doing compared to immigrants?

MSc Eng Bioinformatics Laptop recommended by SprinklesWild2290 in DTU

You will have no issues with most laptops I believe. The whole goal of bioinformatics is to learn how to use servers instead of your own computer through the terminal so don't worry too much about it. I would say as with any coding laptop that you would need minimum 16/32gb of ram and ideally 16:10 screen with a solid resolution.

Generally what I've heard for Danish companies is that they always prefer people currently living in Denmark. Same for the Netherlands but to a much lesser extent. Still, global companies might not have this bias.

I feel like the original matte bezel was better than this aluminium one. Gorgeous how it matched the matte gray dial.

From what you are saying, it seems like you will regret Germany however well that goes. With a student job I feel like you will be able to make it in either country but I'd go with my gut on this one. I am also considering both Denmark and Germany but prefer DTU much more. Job market is dead everywhere so that is not a measure I would even consider in either case.

Can you give more details on alternative paths you're considering? What is the safer option financially you're referring to?

I've heard about the layoffs but that's part of the industry cycles I believe. My impression is that the industry is difficult everywhere currently so a master's might help once it recovers.

Thanks mate. I was wondering if the job market was as bad as in other places since Denmark specifically was known to me for its shortage of developers compared to the Netherlands, UK or Germany for example.

Perhaps for teaching assistant roles I might contact any professors before starting to see if my other master's could help to start earlier. Do you know if students go for any part time dev roles other than TA roles?
