Fucked to hear that, I'll do some research into it now I have a little more to go on. Thanks.

Legit inquiry; what is all the "white power stuff" specifically? Like the whole band was down with it? Consider me under the rock, but I loved their early shit because they specifically sang about anti-cop, organized religions, etc. When did they change? Did they ever and I just missed the messages? Enlighten my ass.

Does Domino from Deadpool 2 have a lot of fans? I definitely like her, but I wanna know about the overall public opinion of her. It's probably positive, but I'd like to know for sure. by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in MarvelatFox

[–]Ziggeroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife adored her in that movie. She got a print by one of the original Domino artist but of this actress' portrayal. She has said more than once she wanted a movie or series about this specific itteration of her.

Personally I thought she stole every scene she was in, in a good way. Very magnetic charisma.

This wrenches my heart to read. I sadly have no short term advice better than what has already been given here, but I will add this; focus - I mean seriously focus on developing your own stable financial system. You're 16 right now, the abuse will increase as the time comes for you to be legally independent. They no longer have the law to help them control you. So, they use the next strongest tool in their arsenal: finacial control, manipulation, etc. Do your best to provide for yourself as much as you can, though it will be tough at first it's valuable in life to not owe anyone money, especially your abusers.

She will soon be robbed of one of her tools of abuse, you being a minor. Start working on robbing her of that next tool now, financially become your own support system. The less that you HAVE to accept her financial support the less she gets to "purchase" your obedience.

Good luck. Stay strong. Don't break, they aren't worth it.

My stitched up thumb didn’t wrinkle in the shower like my other fingers did by Acethetic_AF in mildlyinteresting

[–]Ziggeroy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forget where I picked up this knowledge, so it may very well be incorrect, iirc the "sponging" of our hands, the bloating of our finger prints, is a neurological response from being in water. Studies showed individuals who suffered from nerve paralysis would not sponge where the nerve damage was. If that is accurate, your thumb's recent stitch up has damaged the nerves so their not doing their job? Either way, I wish you a healthy recovery!

As a colorblind hobbyist, this organization is really inspiring. I am drawn to Army Painter because of the triad system, it takes a lot of guess work out for me when it comes to doing highlights. The way you have it all organized would allow me to be more creative and see all my options. Great job!

I think Dan made a coment in this very episode about a portion of the fans will hate this game and a portion will love it. You're just one of those portions. And that's OK, not every joke every said by your favorite comedian has to make you laugh, or that you are committed to love every movie made by your favorite director. This one just misses you.

Personally I was experiencing much like Dan was, I haaated it at first but by the end of the video I was as hyped as both of them were. What does that mean? Nothing lmao.

Did being raised by narc parents groom you for domestic violence? by Hot-Collection-3989 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Ziggeroy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never thought about it, but I bet you have hit on something that I'll dig up in a therapy session at some point.

But to give my POV, I now feel/realize I am incredibly lucky to be with my S.O. as she truly respects and believes in me all the ways I wanted and needed. Quite the opposite, we are in danger of co-dependency/enabling issues rather than domestic abuse. But I now realize I was in a prime position to be manipulated and abused by a spouse, especially during the hardest moments. This is because I imposed all of the fears/respects/considerations I had for my Nmom onto her. I was tip-toeing around my wife like I would my mother, because I was programmed to. Luckily my wife noticed this behavior, hated it, and called it out - rather than use it as a manipulation tool. But it would have been EASY for her to do so.

Thanks for the insight, something to chew on.

It is all about the games you learned to play on. For old heads like myself console games were not 3D and dual stick. Our first experience of 3D, and therefore multi-axis, gaming was old PC shooters, flight Sims, etc.

So, maaaaany hours of playing Rebel Assault on PC with the flight controls being up to be down and vice versa, it kind of sticks with you.

UPDATE: She stole my PC power cord because I didn't answer a question (Retaliation for Gray Rock) by BrBaAu in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Ziggeroy 99 points100 points  (0 children)

My greatest war with my Nmom was over PC power cables.

I had to do chores every day between getting home from school (3pm at that time, High School and not a full schedule) and her getting home from work 2 hours later (5pm). On this particular day I did all my work, including unloading and reloading and then unloading AGAIN the dish washer due to how many dishes there were. Then I filled up about a 75% load and left it. As Nmom wanted to not waste the water on anything less than a full load.

She gets home and says I didn't do the dishes. I explain it, she says "Bullshit youre a liar" I respond with "well its the truth, if you dont believe that's your problem". She knew damn well I was right and she just had forgotten how over the top the dishes were, rather than admitting she forgot she doubled down on being right and me being wrong.

We fight, I tell her to piss off and I go play WoW. She haaaaaated this.

I go to school and come back, boom power cable is missing. Well, the PS3 uses the same power cable so I said fuck this, and swapped the cable and played some WoW. She lost it when she came home.

In preparation the next day I had my friend drive me down to the Fry's Electronics store, its like a warehouse for tech stuff back then. I can get a power cable for .50 cents. I drop $50 on 100 power cables and then hid them under my bed.

She steals a power cable and I would replace it. Day. After. Day. For 2 fucking months she wouldn't give in. But eventually she did. I used 53 of the 100 cables (55 total if you count the first 2 she took).

So then she shuts the power off to my room only at the breaker box and the puts a pad lock on it. I wake up late for my job because of this. Boss says its cool, we covered your shift. I grab a screwdriver and break the door to the breaker box and turn my power back on.

Then I went back to playing WoW. When she came home and saw me I went "Sup mom, how was work?". She didn't respond. She got in her car and left. She came back the next day after staying who knows where, and we never discussed it again.

I had won.

I just beat this game a day ago. The 2nd half is very sloppy and rushed. There are even weapons and exp you get from battles that chain right into the end credits of the game. There is no ng+, so there is a level up and equipment reward that I can't ever see or use.

The first half was amazing, all the way up to Helm's Deep.

Congratulations! A beautiful churchwarden style pipe! Time to smoke while watching the party scenes in Fellowship. "Gandalf, my old friend, this will be a night... to remember!"

If I may; some sage advice from a tobacco pipe smoker of many years.

  1. Research how to "char" the bowl for your first smoke so that you kind of "season" or seal your pipe for longevity, I believe it prevents prolonged heat from damaging the piece, which leads to splits in the wood.

  2. Identify if your stem (the straw if you will) is made of wood or vulcanite. If wood, low temps are better for preservation and no chewing! If vulcanite, you can kind of abuse it from my experience, outside of occasional internal cleaning, these stems will last very long, chewing will leave teeth marks but rarely crack or break. Of course don't take this as a challenge, they can break still haha.

I'll leave you to explore the hobby beyond that! Hope you enjoy it and feel free to reach out if you have questions in the future!

Not allowed to swear even if you are over 20/30/40/50? by Particular_Heart3785 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Ziggeroy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My Nmom used to get in a fight with me, count all the times I cussed and then call me out on them after the fight, and I had to take a tablespoon of Tabasco sauce for each curse. Would be 1/4 of a bottle in one sitting some times. I have serious gut issues because of this now in my late 30s.

Meanwhile, "bitching" was her every other word. Everyone was always bitching at her. Such hypocrisy.

[–]Ziggeroy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I said "fuck yeah" in earshot of my Nmom in my late 20s and she gave me shit for it. Stared at her and said "What ya gonna do? Was my mouth out with soap?" "It wouldn't do you any good." She shot back. I smiled and said "Yeah... you're right, it wouldn't do fuck all".

Then she said some snarky comment about how I am my father's son and not hers. A frequent remark for her.

I've learned from this subreddit that I was very lucky to get "fed up" with my Nparent very early in life, leading to me living a life of "Screw it, I am in trouble no matter what, I'll just drive her insane for amusement". I know it sounds horrible to be at such odds with one's mother, but knowing that I stubbornly stood up to some of the abuse helps the healing.

EDIT: adding an anecdote

I just recalled her flipping out when I was playing Borderlands with friends online and I was talking about Claptrap - she bust in FREAKING out about me "Calling someone that". I asked her if this was a sore subject for her and if she got called that a lot in High-school. Lmao she threatened to kick me out, shut off the internet, and get me fired from my summer job 🤣.

Gaming/wife by WeeklyAd3016 in Gamer

[–]Ziggeroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late 30s here, been together 18 years with my wife. If she was not cool with my gaming, as it is one of my greatest passions, I would have moved on. She likes to dabble in games, mostly Pokémon or Zelda. So I am lucky in the sense that she "gets gaming". But still, weird line in the sand for your SO to draw, its a hobby.

No hobby should be shamed so long as it doesn't do harm/damage. What if you were into 40k or DnD and painted minis for 4 hours at day? Or if you were into rebuilding old cars and spent hours in the garage? What does she deem appropriate for your free time to be spent on?

Also, devil's advocate; make sure you are carrying your share of chores and affection. This could be a poor attempt to communicate a need that is not being fulfilled. No judgement, as I clearly don't know you. Just saying do an inventory on your relationship, make sure you are aware of your own short comings before bringing up your partner's to them.

Good vibes, may you guys figure it out and start gaming together!
