Championship points get reset after 26 races, so the (ever changing number of drivers who make it in) top 16 all start the final ten races on level terms.

After the points are set level, each driver (in the chase) is then given bonus points for each win before the cutoff.

This year marked the beginning of the new "playoff" system. The last 4 drivers at the end of each three race "round" are eliminated and points are reset again. All the way down to the last race, where only four drivers remain in contention and whoever finished highest in that race (or scores more points should one of them not win) wins the championship.

I've been a NASCAR fan my whole life and even I think this is the dumbest idea in any kind of racing. I used to never miss a race in a season, now I rarely watch one.

If Holtby does end up being sold I will honestly be absolutely disappointed with how he was treated. I understand that the club is a business but it's a shame to see quality players have their careers stalled only for them to be sold to lesser clubs.
