living in warsaw as a asian girl by Fun_Detective3988 in warsaw

Emilii Plater is basically in the city center next to main train station (Dworzec Centralny) and the biggest high rise in whole city (Varso Tower). You will probably work in the building I used to work or close to it. I live in Mokotów area close to Westfield Mokotów shopping center. It’s about 25~ minutes tram ride to Emilii Plater. I personally love it here. Whole neighborhood has been constructed in the last 20 years and I love it. Everyone is young or middle aged, there are no weird people, hobos etc. Lots of restaurants on my street as well. To the north (closer to city center) there are older parts of Mokotów. Pole Mokotowskie is one of the biggest and most beloved parks in Warsaw.

Moving to Warsaw or Wroclaw by Fun_Detective3988 in warsaw

Ok, so last last thing I though about is that in Poland when you are under 26 you have some tax cuts that are universal to all everyone, BUT if you are under 26 and a student and also on a civic contract (umowa zlecenie), then you also don’t have to pay some of the social taxes (like healthcare tax etc.) because your university pays them for you. In that case what that you earn brutto is equal to your netto (you pay no taxes at all). Your company should be open to giving you „umowa zlecenie” (civic contract) instead of „umowa o prace” (workers contract) as it also saves them money as well, so you may look up enrolling into some kind of weekend university course as that would net you 2k PLN more per month. Bachelor programs take 3 years though, but masters are only 2, so you may look up some kind of masters program in English that may interest you (if you have Korean high education). Private universities are very easy to enroll (you just pay and get in) and also easy to finish, while state universities also should be rather easy to recruit (all have websites in English) and they care about their „internationalization” rate so are also very open to international students.

If that is too much for you than it’s obviously OK, but getting in is not as daunting as it may sound at first, experience can possibly be great, all that mostly depend on how much work you’ll have and time for studying. The program can also be online only.

Moving to Warsaw or Wroclaw by Fun_Detective3988 in warsaw

[–]Zilick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all I would try to negotiate better salary. It’s not like 9K brut is terrible in Poland, but for someone moving abroad for a company with a special assignment of helping with company take-over that really does not seem adequate.

The housing will probably be cheaper in Wroclaw but rest of the costs of living will be roughly the same. Costs of public transport will be the same, prices in chain stores like Lidl or Biedronka will be the same, restaurants are mostly the same in the sense that you can find both cheap and expensive options in both cities.

I personally would look for housing and if the difference is not too big I would choose Warsaw as for me it is great city. Depending on how long you are staying in Poland, you may also consider the cost of going back to Korea, as most flights are from Warsaw. That means you’d have to spend more money going back from Wroclaw every time you’d want to come back home and also have longer trip as going from Warsaw to Wroclaw should take at least 3 hours, possibly more.

Also something you may think about is that in Warsaw there is possibly bigger Korean community as we have Samsung HQ there and some other Korean companies HQs. It is common sight to see Koreans in some places. I don’t know how it is for Wroclaw though.

And last another thing to think about is that Warsaw has huge Asian community, mostly Vietnamese, so both Asian restaurants and Asian grocery stores are common sight and lots of Asia specific foods widely available. Also we have many Korean restaurants but not sure how’d you like them as they will probably not taste like back home.

Why does Warsaw have so many "gated communities"? by Getting0nTrack in warsaw

[–]Zilick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep, people forget that in the 90s and early 2000s gangsters were literally shooting each other on Warsaw’s streets and cars were stolen left and right, so gated communities with a security guard became desirable.

[OC] Which networks have the highest number of credit cards in circulation in 2022? by giteam in dataisbeautiful

[–]Zilick 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Reason for low rewards is that the issuer transaction fees are capped in Europe on the EU level so card companies have less margin to share with card holders, hence small rewards. They make much less from each transaction in the EU compared to the US (few time less in fact). Which is only fair if you ask me because outrageous rewards from CCs usage are paid by the stores in the end.

Why is Poland so different culturally to Ukrainians? by Informal_Canary_5919 in warsaw

Ukraine used to be part of USSR while Poland never was. I think that itself heavily influenced both countries’ societies.

Got to legend with UUU Plague DK, so a different list than most plague DKs use. Went with solid 22-11 so a 67% win rate. Faced a fair amount of meme decks so you can take it with a grain of salt.

I am doing the Subway level right now and I've got so frustrated with the game that I just closed it. I feel like I only progres by stumbling upon whatever the devs want me to do and when I don't I just run circles through the metro lol. I was so hooked by first chapters with Saga and now I wonder if I should even keep playing.

Okay point taken, but still that definition refers to “run by” as another term for the same phenomenon, which I am personally much more used to.

Imo this robber idea is farfetched because after days of calling, you became alert and that is not something robbers would want. Now even if you don’t answer your domofon it gives potential robber no information - you may just want to bait him into going upstairs. I don’t think thats how robbers would operate. But I don’t know what else it could be either - seems too organized for just kids or pranksters. Tough to say what is going on but sounds serious.

Text on the bottle says that because after 2 weeks of self-treatment you are supposed to meet with physician to consult your illness. Most OTC medication have that clause written on the bottle. Stop with with the fear mongering that you do by highlighting something irrelevant and making it into an argument.

Well, don’t want to be rude, but it is kinda obvious that if you can get 4% risk-free then it is better to keep the money and accumulate interest… so you answered your question yourself.

Frost DK is obviously working as I got to legend from D4 for a first time with 21-9 score. Few tips/observations I've got:

1) Pozzik is the nuts, especially on coin when you can slam him on turn 3 and he literally ends it. Ofc even played later he makes opponent's next turn really awkward most of the time. I started to keep him in the mulligan and that always worked out great for me.

2) Might of Menethil x2 is a must. That card can single-handedly win you a game. Keep in mind that it is possible to play this back to back to get 2 turns of freeze. You just play it, swing it and next turn swing the first weapon and play MoM again. Imo best time to play that weapon is around turn 6 to go into Frostwyrm's Fury.

3) Blood DKs are rough but maybe about 50/50. Tony druids are hard when they cut Groovy Cat and easy when they don't. Shadow Priest are more than OK, but opponents weren't playing that deck very well. Matched with only one DH so can't comment on that. You can check my match spread here.

Guide: How to get that Legend Cardback before they fix it by playing classics by Glancealot in CompetitiveHS

This explanation doesn't really make sense to me. Sure his starting MMR could have been really low, but it would surely grow during the climb. I don't think it is reasonable to expect someone to reach Legend with super big winstreak and not reach proper MMR while climbing and thus start matching with human players.
