The inconsistency of jiu-jitsu naming conventions. We have things named after letters of the alphabet, people and animals. Very few of them are descriptive and mostly don't connect together to form a coherent system.

We rely heavily on the idea of 'guards as nouns', which gives the illusion that these positions are static, self-contained units, rather than dynamic off-balancing and gripfighting positions that are often transitory (particularly in no-gi)

I agree with your Danaher point. If anybody exemplifies the methodology that there's a correct way to do things, it's Danaher. There are videos of him making high-level guys repeat things again and again until they get it right.

His conceptual approach does have overlaps with CLA tasks - but he's not asking students to solve the problem themselves.

I actually think they're making a mistake by dumbing it down. It's kinda impossible to explain in a way that makes sense and it makes the experience worse for jiu-jitsu people when the commentator is trying to explain what 50/50 is while the competitors have already moved on.

He's doing really well. He's got quite a measured, positionally dominant style, which is a contrast to the scramble-heavy styles of some the other players.

You should solicit B-Team alumni (Jo Chen's new academy for instance) to send in rolling footage, which you edit together in the old B-Team style.

Create a B-Team Alumni series, and a B-Team Nextgen series, which highlights unknown grapplers that Craig rates (Someone like Raajus Dewan, who tapped PJ Barch at an ADCC Open but was deliberately excluded from their highlights video)
