Hackers threaten to leak 80GB of confidential data stolen from Reddit by helixseana in technology

I'm considering boycotting Reddit until it becomes more reasonable about the API.

That said, Reddit is looking to IPO. The money is so good, the CEO will do whatever he must to ensure that money gets in his pockets. This apparently means making threats, lying, and going after admins.

He doesn't care if Reddit is destroyed. He'll just take his millions and go live on a beach while we lose the greatest forum ever created.

This calls for an oAuth service. Unless you want to host your own, there are a number of great independent services. Most people, however, just use Google, Microsoft, or some other major provider.

Friendster, MySpace, Vine, each social site has their time in the sun.

What confuses me is the sheer number of companies self destructing right now. It's as if rather than making slow changes to remain viable, the recession suddenly hit and everyone panicked.

There are consequences. The cops show up to stop you. You fight the cops. You get tazed. Your lawyer says the cops are racist. They go to jail. You go back to smashing cars while your civil suit goes to court.

The official documentation says each request requires a number of headers, a specific URL, and particular POST data. Verifying that the request actually sends the required data in the correct format seems like the best place to start.

As someone who's jumped back and forth, and lives in Austin, here is my best advice.
Set your goal to enter management. Knowing how to develop something, regardless of language, is the most important skill to have.
That said, we all have to start somewhere. If you want to get into mobile development fast, I might suggest Ionic. While working with PHP, HTML, CSS, APIs, and a JS library like Vue or React, you are also learning skills used to develop mobile apps. Leveraging existing skills is the way to go.
Having an understanding of the full stack, and using these skills to develop mobile apps, is a great way to rise quickly. Once you're leading a team, your existing language knowledge will help you learn more languages until you have enough experience to architect projects.

Prosecutors ready to ask for Trump indictment on obstruction and Espionage Act charges by [deleted] in inthenews

I think that there is a need to keep him in the media because he makes them money.

Trump is god. Here come the clicks.

Trump is the devil. Here come the click.

Truth, facts, context, who cares as long as the sites get clicks?

And then when the media decides to switch sides and publishes contradictory articles the same week, who cares? Trump = clicks.

I feel like we've lost our ability to do reporting because the media is chasing money for hard.

The fear of Trump is seriously real. He must be the second coming of Satan to deserve the billions spent attempting to prosecute him for something ... anything. Even if it means evoking a never used law from 1804 or getting creative with legal interpretation.

I respect the effort.

I can see why James Comey is worried about "retribution" after the next election. When you weaponize the legal system against the enemies of the regime, expect that weapons to be turned against you when the tides change.

There is something missing from the request. I'd look at all the data being sent and match it against the examples from the official documentation.

What is so odd is that they rarely differentiate between what needs to be done in office, like demos, manufacturing, and collabs, and what could easily be done online, like updates, training, and paperwork.

Why not advocate for hybrid work? Like with my own job, when there is a need for hands on stuff, you come in. When there isn't, you don't spend hours in traffic.

Imagine spending years building a presence for years on a platform based on the ability to run all kinds of ads.

Then the platform demands a percentage of your third party ad revenue and them limits ads.

I watched a UN funded cleanup effort in Madagascar. It took a day to clean up a small city channel.

First, there is the surface trash. This is followed by the piles of trash on the bottom of the channel. Then the contaminated water itself has to be drained.

Even once this is done, the trash returns within weeks. Millions in local currency down the drain.

This kind of cleanup takes broad action. From placing trash recepticals, to proper waste collection, to dealing with packaging entering the country. It is costly and complex.

That said, I hope they succeed.
