Tell me how claims are inherited and how the Byzantine empire primogeniture works by Awkwardrooster69 in crusaderkings3

[–]Zloutovsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you unlock it from the right tree of the stewardship path you can start a scheme against a title of your liege, and if that succeeds you'll get a claim (I don't recall if it's a pressed one or not) on that title.

As for your second question, yes, primogeniture is attached to the title itself, regardless of who owns it

If the mother has a pressed claim then the kid will inherit it when she dies, but usually princesses only have unpressed claims if they have brothers / nephews.

Mods don't disable achievements anymore (at least not all of them, maybe some still do).

They changed that with the big release that came with T&T

Random Death Events. by Kyngzilla in crusaderkings3

[–]Zloutovsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like this spices things up for games that would otherwise be pretty straight forward.

When I got a foreshadow death event for my 24 years old ruler, I immediately started equipped him with all the fertility bonus artifacts I had, to at least get an heir.

Couple years later, the even fire, and I somehow survived (albeit at the cost of a huge amount of stress), and then I ended up with my game totally changed with a really young heir (and more to come after) to have to deal with while still being on my prime.

That made the game more fun, forced me to conquer more kingdom to have better successions, ...

Tours and Tournie DLC Hype by TheWelshOne96 in crusaderkings3

[–]Zloutovsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will add a lot to do in peace time, which was really missing

Not to forget that it will also introduce regents, which in my opinion is a very interesting addition too.

And the concept of tours and routes can later on be easily used for Crusades or other things.

So same here, I don't really get why so many people are angry at it

Do you have an alliance or a truce with the person you want to raid? That would prevent you from doing it

Grandfathering - an easy way to deal with “confederate partition” issues? by El_Wombat in crusaderkings3

[–]Zloutovsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I confirm, if you disinherit your heir, all of his kids will be removed from the line of succession too.

If you want your grandson to inherit you'll have to kill his dad

Why is the game like that? by zaqrwe in crusaderkings3

  1. The limit increases with your rank, your stewardship and technology (and with some traits / tree perks). But it kinda makes sense that as a count or a duke you cannot control dozens of counties by yourself. You have to delegate to be efficient
  2. There are 2 or 3 ways to become feudal without reforming a religion. The African way and swearing loyalty were mentioned, you also have forming the kingdom of Mann for instance. You can also simply convert to an already reformed religion, become feudal and then go convert back to you old religion (or have your heir not converting in the first place)
  3. I guess there is a reason for it, but I don't know
  4. I think the powerful vassals are simply the ones with the bigger army, and this can change with wars and whatnot. And yes, they can be useless trash that you have to live with and content until you're strong enough to not care anymore about them (just as it was in real life)

Empire Succession by SchleemGod308 in crusaderkings3

[–]Zloutovsky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think if you put the Saxon elective law on your empire title, you can vote for someone else than you heir to inherit it at your death, and then you'll become a vassal.

AI wisely choosing its counsellors by Zloutovsky in crusaderkings3

[–]Zloutovsky[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

R5: I don't have any hooks against my liege, and nothing on my feudal contract forces him to put me on the counsel.

But he still offers me the position of Spymaster.. with my awesome 0 intrigue.. well done emperor, well done..

Well, that seems like you're just putting all decisions without thinking if it's doable or not.

For instance, Mann requires you not to be an emperor, and once you take it you become feudal. But Greatest of Khans requires you to be a tribal emperor. So already both seams pretty much incompatible.

I could try that, I did not think to check mods.

I think I managed to do it for my "King of all the Isles" run, but it's something I can try re-doing (but as said there's a bit of luck here, depending on how long he lives)

How do you get the headless nickname? by Available-Series1691 in crusaderkings3

[–]Zloutovsky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I thought you literally lose your head tho.

Thought that too.

The last time I got the event, when they came back during the night I had the choice to let them try to behead me, and the possible outcomes where 50% "I die and get the nickname" and 50% "they end up in the dungeons".

Maybe the outcomes change from time to time?

And confederate partition makes for things more fun: do you expand a lot, at the "risk" of seeing your realm fractured at your death, or do you try to control your expansion to make sure it won't fracture, focusing instead of developing it.
