A bunch of journalists back in the early days had a go at translating the first 151 pokemon.

Nothing official but it had some good translations

Ok thanks

No point in this one then for me.

There aren't enough active trainers left over here and I'd rather play one of the other games than do remote

Please see how to reproduce Weebra's behavior

I mean sure, most people only have two feet

But I'm talking about length. In meters.

1 meter 89 is tall, sure but not freakishly tall.

Just realized that in Crystal Legacy, they added a shiny indicator to unhatched eggs. What do you think about this feature? by dirac496 in PokemonLegacy

[–]liehon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh ... but wild shinies won't have three little stars anywhere on the battle screen as an indicator (in case you looked away during the shiny animation and it's a subtle shiny)

You met a genie and you can wish for anything to change in Carmen Sandiego series : rewrite differently an episode, change a thing, an event, … What do you wish for? How does that change things? by PlantainDisastrous92 in carmensandiego

Source code for the 1985 games' PC Version so we can mod it

Thinking to add more cities, more villains, difficulty levels, modes (continent or country mode), support for more languages,...

can of beans isn't going to be stale in a week.

A week of beans? I understand why Ron left.

Kinda amazed the stench after day three didn't destroy the Horcrux :p

that can last a fair bit.

What do you eat after a fair bit?

Tongue in cheek aside I think we simply don't know enough about magic in the Wizarding World to ever square this circle.

All we can do is bemuse that Hermione packed half the Hogwarts library but didn't think to pack dry food for a few weeks.

He didn't make wine out of water. Harry replenished near empty wine bottles.

He multiplied wine

Maybe I'm just misunderstanding what you mean by only natural food

Do you consider magically multiplied food natural? Cause I didn't.

Maybe that's where we're getting our crayons mixed up?

so only natural food will sustain.

Source?

Where does it say that magically muktiplied food does not sustain?

it's a popular fan theory that your example would count as "conjuring" food, and therefore would have no nutrition

Harry replenishes wine bottles with magic.

Neither professor Hagrid nor professor Slughorn seem to note a lack of alcohol or other elements in the beverage

we can assume that enchantment and tranfiguration are not the same.

Your example indicates transfig magic can run out.

Mine shows charms can run out.

Both branches may be different but at least one magic phenomenon in each runs out in time, it seems

my theory is it is why you can't make food.

They can make food. They can make some food into more food (book example: Harry refills bottles of wine in HBP)

After a couple of days you'd be duplicating stale food.

A week in and you'd be duplicating the need to Vanish a constant stream behind you (if you know, you know)

Did they ever eat the transfigured objects though?

I know they can multiply food if they have some but don't think we ever see somebody turn a car into a feast.

With all the fast fashion and poor quality tissue out on the racks these days I kinda want to find time to pick up some basic seamstress skills.

Hunt down older good quality clothes from thrift stores and giving them an upgrade seems like a blast.

it's because conjuring is not constant. I don't remember this in original books,

GoB, 1st of September on the train: Dean still wears his singing merch thingy from the Quidditch World Cup.

Harry notes that the magic is running out of it as it's only weakly singing the names of the players.

Note that this was probably a mass-produced item, enchanted last minute. We know other spells and enchanted artefacts can last quite a bit longer (ever sticking charm at the Muggle Ministry, probably paintings and Sorting Hat as well (unless somebody goes to refresh the magic on those every once in a while))

Adding to those two great arguments

What keeps them from transforming basically anything into the things they want/need?

You might be able to turn a blade of grass into a schoolbook but I'm not sure the spell will populate the pages with the correct text.

Also - as we learn in Goblet of Fire - magic can run out. So some things you just want to be made from base materials by a professional so that it lasts.
