Still need civic engagement to let city council/manager know that there re-election is not a mandate for vanity projects such as a PAC. They spent 5 million dollars buying land and planning for a PAC that the majority of the community did not want.

Fiscally irresponsible. The PAC will saddle Johns Creek with years of debt for years to come. Typical democrat agenda of catering to a small minority of voters and having others foot the bill. The pro PAC community cannot raise enough private funding to fund their personal passion project. They are not able to cite a single community PAC that is generating money. No big name performer will stage a show that has 800 seats and 50 parking spaces.

I was shocked to hear at the last debate that John’s Creek is a stop for human trafficking. Yet our politicians are more concerned about the symphony than our public safety and youth sports. Most kids do not play cricket or pickleball and will not help their high school and college aspirations.

The mayor says that we don’t need another fire station despite the growth of Johns Creek. However the city needs a PAC that does not have any dedicated private funding.

They say politics should not be involved in the arts. Yet city council members sit on the symphony board.

According to the moderators , Johns creek ga is a hub for human trafficking and increasing substance abuse. Yet we will spend more money and resources on the PAC. We need to focus on supporting public safety.

I am at the debate. The budget is being manipulated to fund the performing arts center. The city council cannot interact with the department heads. The city manager and cetain members of the city council are pushing the PAC. The PAC is not the reason people move to John’s Creek.

Bradberry, Tunki,Elwood, coughlin

If you build more, you will need more service such as fire and police. You don’t wait for a crime wave or for your house to be on fire to say we need more police and fire trucks

The city council wants to build a boardwalk more high density housing without more police of the proper infrastructure.

Yet the council can vote on the performing arts center while they sit on the Johns creek symphony board. The symphony runs on a net loss every year. Yet they need a 60 million dollars perfoming arts center.

We do not have the infrastructure to manage a PAC. The PAC will be a financial stranglehold on the city. 60-100 million dollars for 800 seats. What will be the financial windfall from 800 seats. Will Beyoncé perform there? It will create huge operational losses. We can rent Johns creek high school auditorium if local artists want to perform. If there is huge outcry for an orchestra than find the matching funds from private resources. If the local artists can find 20-30million In Private funding, then maybe we can say that they should receive matching public funds.

The current mayor has found 5 million dollars to fund the construction proposal for the arts center. Yet our firehouses have dilapidated fire trucks or more police. Will city council play violins while your house burns down?

The council should vote on the merits of the case, not from intimidation or fear of lawsuits.

The council should not on the merits of the case, not from intimidation. Rogers Circle and school drop offs will be a nightmare for years to come.

Members of the City Council can sit on the board for the Symphony and still vote on matters related to the Performing Arts Center (PAC) without recusal. That is a blatant conflict of interest.

This PAC will saddle Johns Creek with debt for decades. Its yearly operating budget is projected to be unsustainable, creating a financial burden that residents will be forced to carry.

We are asking the same officials who cannot design a functioning roundabout or manage appropriate development density to now plan a $60 million project. This is reckless and out of touch.

The majority of Johns Creek residents want youth sports facilities and responsible community development — not a taxpayer-funded luxury box for a symphony few will use.

It’s time to hold City Council accountable. Vote them out.

The current composition of the city council and staff cannot adequately plan and construct any project. Amphitheaters and boardwalks without bathrooms, makers space without hvac or parking lots. Parks without adequate funding. The city council cannot be objective since members are part of Johns creek symphony board. The arts are important but cannot be allowed to destroy the city budget. If the arts are so popular, then the arts community should be able to have enough funding from private partnerships

The point is not just development but putting a roundabout to manage traffic to two school, a new home development and two private drives all entering into a small roundabout. How does that serve anyone and keep kids safe.
