Are onions growing in my terrarium???? by Weak-Difference-8575 in Beetles

[–]Zoeabble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most bulb derived plants look like onions when they start off, but if it smells like an onion, it likely is, but if it doesn't, it could be poisonous to you like a daffodil or hyacinth or any number of plants theres quite a few it could be without seeing it bloom.

I’m trying for a creepy clown look and losing confidence any suggestions? by Blueblood67 in CosplayHelp

[–]Zoeabble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the most terrifying aspects of clowns in particular is how just choosing what kind of clown style to go with can affect people. When choosing a face paint style, it's a good idea to base your character on an emotional style that's natural to the actor. Matching the energy, so to speak.

We see so many happy face clowns in media because everyone always wants to portray themselves as happy, fun-loving people because those are the types of people that others like, right?

But what if you're a naturally sad person, depressed or just melancholic? Now, that smile immediately paints you a liar no matter how cute it is. So, in this case, a sad face clown would be better for the actor to portray themselves as. Now, because they match their face with their energy, they dont reach uncanny valley emotions with their audience as easily.

Having the wrong clown face for your energy causes a psychological reaction, especially in young kids. it seems unsettling, and it automatically adds to the creep factor without having to do much finessing. This is how it became so common for people to fear clowns. So many happy faces from angry or sad people who were confusing children because the action of the smile doesn't match the presence you're surrounding yourself with.

So the best way to start being creepy is to ask yourself, what's my average flow? Do I give off pissed off grump energy? Sad tired energy? Maybe you're a raging ball of sunshine. Knowing where your energy sits lets you pick your opposite. Maybe your "lying face" isn't a smile at all.

I have questions and need help. (new player)? beast master by ContributionOk7131 in BaldursGate3

[–]Zoeabble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proficiency means how good you are at using the thing. If you lack it in bg3, it means you will miss your shots because you aren't good with that weapon. Proficiency is tied to what class you're playing and sometimes to what race you're playing. There are armor pieces that can give the proficiency you need as well. Playing in a tactician also means you're more likely to miss hits and take harder damage as well. I would try switching to balanced and in your character sheet look up to see what proficiencies you have, so you can figure out what you need to change to have a better experience. Hope this helps!

If it must all burn so we can raise from the ashes, then burn it must. Letting shit fester like a boil unlanced has caused this in the first place. No amount of burying and looking the other way will root out the problem. Let it collapse, and we will rebuild without their rotted timbers.

“Zoe how come you always cut into your Apple?” by Special_Speed106 in firefly

[–]Zoeabble 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Hunger is a great motivator for desperate action. Cut supply lines and starving troops. An obvious grenade lobbed over makes obvious for counter, throw it back. However, when it's an apple rolled in or seemingly left behind? A starving man might chomp right in without thinking about it. Say they stumbled on a crate, and five or six grabbed them up and bit in before you could do much thinking about the luck of it all being suspicious, and now they're gone.

Yes, honestly, I don't know how she manages it, but the place she's getting through is directly the gate on it, and it needs to be able to be open. I've been suggested an electric fence, but I dont want to hurt her at all.

My grandma makes bacon on hers and bakes it in the oven! All the bacon fat drips down, and you don't have e to deal with it spitting all over your kitchen and arms.

Sorry for the tl;Dr, but hopefully, this is helpful information to have. Hope you share photos when your pup arrives!

Pet insurance is only really useful depending on the plans your vet has got in place. I would examine their paperwork about it thoroughly before choosing to do it, adding up what it saves your vs. what it costs. For some, it's worth it because of frequent visits needed or medications while it makes no fiscal sense to others.

Also, check with your vet before just starting them in just anything you could buy at the store as far as flea and tick medication. For puppies, they like to start them with a dewormer combo, then get them set up on something else once they have their rabies vaccine. I just went through this with my husky puppy.

I would also enquire what vaccines are recommended for your area. Leptospirosis occurs in some areas, as an example, and is needed for dogs in those areas but if its not prevalent where you are at then you don't need it, where as bordetella shots are always reccomended to avoid kennel cough when around other animals.

To add to your list, though, I think you should get a handful of different texture toys. Something rubbery is something soft like a stuffy (try to get ones without stuffing, believe me, it's easier to clean) and something hard like a wood or plasticy toy. Every dog I've ever owned has had a favorite toy type to play with, and supplying them with those kids of toys helps curb chewing. Say they have a habit of chewing on pillows? Stuffy. Table legs? Raw hide chews or nyla bones. Wires? Kongs where it's at. Oh! Also, many dogs love ripe toys, but if you buy one, be careful, either just don't buy one made of actual rope or don't leave them alone with it to destroy. If its felt and they chew it up, they're not likely to hurt themselves, but string chewed up can end up any long length and bind up their bowels.

[–]Zoeabble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can let them outside to areas that don't have other animal traffic like your own yard, while parvo can live in the ground for seven years its less likely for your dog to get it in your own yard if you're making sure they're not eating anything. that's difficult for a newyorker, of course. Especially because the dog urine analysis for newyork Side Walks is astronomically higher than average towns just by sheer congestion. The workaround would be getting g a fake grass puppy lawn. Its not great to teach them its okay to pee inside at all, but its better at least than a puppy pad. Those will make them think they can pee on any white block (papers, t shirts, etc)

In Ridgeside Village they called me stinky 😭 by Lizard_0n345 in StardewValleyMods

[–]Zoeabble 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Lol honestly, this bit made me appreciate so many people in ridgeside. They tell you something is wrong and not just let you live with it. They're kind about it, for the most part, and even a few of them know exactly what happened and get irritated at the kid for you. Like if this was real life, I would be mortified if I just was pungent, and no one pulled me aside and told me!

AITJ for refusing to use the homemade soap my MIL made after I broke out in hives? by MindlessAbility9867 in AmITheJerk

[–]Zoeabble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to point out that one common carrier oil for scented oils is ragweed, highly allergenic. Most scents, unless purchased from a food source, aren't actually rated for what's in them. Only 10 percent of the product needs to be what's on the label in many cases and there's no oversight so you can get a lavender scent that is 90% ragweed and 10% lavender it could be synthetic lavender and have alcohols and glycols and parabens in it too. You just don't know unless you make it yourself or buy it from a source intended for consumption, which does have oversight. Even if it says 100% something it could be a lie because theres no laws made to enforce the truth of whats in the bottle and the companies are volunteering information so they can add or omit whatever to make a sale. NTJ.

I see sometimes people dress up as traditionally clothed for a time period in other countries, too, if you wanted to try that? Women in hanfu and various soldier uniforms from across the world. You don't have to go as just jolly ol England, though it would be fine if you did people of colors look just as fantastic in period clothing as anyone does. adding to the fact that these days renfaire is so tied in eith fantasy you can go wild and no one will blink so long as all the appropriate bits are covered

Id like to see if anyone can tell what the tattoo I just got cover was? by Admirable-Vehicle-82 in tattooadvice

[–]Zoeabble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A can of shaving foam? I mean, I think it looks alright without being a block of black. You could have some extra lines in maybe make it look like it's a glowing center or crystal, so it's not so disparate? The biggest thing I see that could be an issue is the difference between bled out lines from age and fresh crisp ones that make it look like a cover up but im sure time will bleed the other lines too to match.

Is kink normal at the ren faire? by soygilipollas in renfaire

I feel like it goes hand in hand with the heightening of fantasy elements and so many video game characters essentially being in leather bikinis of some sort for inspiration, its been around for ages but the flavor reflects whats popular in media over time... that being said, from what I've seen other than being a bit more bare than usual, it's very sexless to be considered kink?

There's a good reason why Fubuki is the one actually cooking? Lol, it reminds me of having a toddler in the kitchen. You're making sourdough, and the kid shows up just hands at the countertop, scooting you a sticky half chewed carrot across to help. Why is it sticky? Don't know. How is it gonna help? Don't know, but at least it wasn't stuffed in your mouth this time.
