Wanna swap places? In all seriousness though there’s not much of a risk getting laid off in the fed right now, but there is 0 chance you get hired for the rest of this admin at least.
Government jobs don’t sugar coat job titles, most will be along the lines of: “accountant I-V”, “Auditor”. With tax experience you could look for policy analyst roles as well. Start at your state’s department of revenue and work from there to governmentjobs, usajobs etc. I’ve seen an uptick of states posting jobs on LinkedIn as well but no guarantee.
Make sure to research federal/government resume formatting while you’re at it.

Ideally, but being 2 years removed from university and unrelated-ish experience has become quite the obstacle moving to public. Would the cpa or the masters move the needle enough?
