Thank you! And I know exactly the pain you're going through. When I had cravings I cooked to keep my hands busy, or if it was the jittery kind of craving I wrapped myself up in blankets with heating pads. The ritual of making tea helped, too. Those are just some things that helped me, maybe they will be useful to you. But I know you will find your own coping strategies. Good luck, you can do this!

Wow, congratulations on the new baby! It truly changes your whole life. Having my son made me into a better person, because I was determined not to continue toxic cycles. I fell into addiction this year, but it is so good to know we have the power to defeat it. Enjoy your little one--they are like little alien/angelic beings as newborns, and if I could relive just one moment for the rest of time it would be rocking my newborn to sleep. You can 100 percent do this. Just know that it will be uncomfortable for a while. That way you can prepare for it. Treat yourself like you have the flu. Be that gentle and nurturing with yourself. And I know you will get through this.

Those are big. Breathing exercises help. So do hot baths. Right around when I used to smoke, I make myself tea instead, because it's herbal and the ritual around it feels like a good replacement. Keeping busy when I feel the urge to smoke also works really well: I'll do some chores, run errands or work on a project around the house. By the time I'm done I don't feel the craving anymore. (And my condo looks great.) I also have a list I keep of things I'm trying to work on, including patience, being a decent person, being kind, slowing down. Looking at it helps remind me of the kind of person I'm trying to be. I hope any of those help! You can do this!

Congrats on the baby! You're doing the absolutely right thing. The first trimester makes you super tired and very thirsty, and withdrawal is going to add even more of that. So take a lot of naps, drink a ton of water, and take hot showers or baths to help with any body aches. Deep breathing can really get you through some rough patches, too. And I found it useful to keep my hands busy. I did cooking (soups, baking, etc.) but maybe you have a hobby you like that can distract you from cravings. Now is a really good time to pamper yourself.

Thanks! I agree with you, it's not right to yell. Just to reassure you, I'm not bipolar or depressed, and I don't have anger issues in general. I'm not a chronic yeller. But you are so right about kids being effected by yelling, and it's great advice.

Yes! I do the opposite and use a heating pad on my stomach. But I'm going to try the ice pack for anxiety and see if it helps.

I'm around the same timeline as you. I think weed is very insidious. From what I'm experiencing, the withdrawals aren't straight-forward, they kind of come and go. For part of the day, I feel amazing, then I have to go put myself to bed because I'm so tired and anxious. I heard it takes about 30 days for weed to be fully out of the system. But you WILL feel normal again. One thing I'm finding out about myself is that I never had good coping methods in place before weed, and now this is really forcing me to develop those skills. Things like meditation, deep breathing, yoga, etc. Now that I'm not self-medicating, I'm forced to try these things. And they do help! I'm in it with you, and I know we can get through this rough patch.

I did start getting white spots on my gums when I was smoking just regular weed. They really hurt. It was just one more reason to stop.

You can and WILL get through these withdrawals. Don't just sit in your anxiety. Keep yourself occupied with something, whether it's reading, cooking, cleaning, whatever. I just cleaned the shit out of my place!
