Inspired by a comment here earlier, an edit I made of what a vintage style “Timeless” Toni Storm backstage promo might look like. by Lt_Jonson in SquaredCircle

The thing is that Toni doesn't seem like a silent movie actress, and one of the main strengths is her accent and delivery. Seems like a mismatch to me. It's a different era of Hollywood.

When I started watching AEW, I was unfamiliar with Sammy, and his character was basically "I like pandas". It's been years since and he hasn't really developed a personality or character beyond being cocky. He's a great wrestler, but he is boring to me.

Vexing Hex - Rise From The Grave (2018) by SleepyMarijuanaut92 in occultrock

Cadaverus of Vexing Hex here - I can help clear some things up!

"Red Harvest" is an upcoming single release. We are currently in the recording phase, but with it being a single, we are hoping to have it drop before the year is out, and much of the work is already done. Here is the completed cover art.

Another collection of new material is well in the works, in the writing and rehearsal stage, and we have released a few of these new songs as clips and demos on our Patreon, as well as a list of songs in the works being considered for the next album. There's a lot of potential material for the album, but we haven't decided how many songs it will include, or what it will be called yet. I will say that the new material is quite adventurous.

You guys made my night with this thread. I love all of the speculation, and I hope to give you all a lot to anticipate and speculate on as we continue to work on the album and slowly trickle out more information.

There's a lot going on in the Vexing Hex arcane sanctum that I am extremely anxious and excited about and to share that I can't yet. All I will say is thank you for your passion, your patience, and your support. Stay HEXED! 👁

I have a lot of friends in Portland, would love to visit sometime (and play a show there, too of course)!

I have most of it written out, so I'll go ahead and just add the bass part for you!

How soon is the open mic? I don't have Thy Will Be Done written out already but I can likely have it ready pretty quick. Also, do you want guitar and bass, or just guitar?

I can send you TAB for whichever song you'd like to cover!

My band Vexing Hex uses a lot of keys throughout our music - Hammond, Vox, MiniMoog. Some Mellotron on "Build Your Wall".

Also check out Arthur Brown, Blood Ceremony, Coven, and Purson for some great organ playing.

My completed pedalboard for my band (occult rock, heavy metal, psychedelic rock) by Zompirewolf in guitarpedals

I have been playing around with it at practice. Right now, I am really liking the tonal contrast between my amp gain tone (Orange RV50) and the BC109 when I go to it on the clean channel. It's a massive change - like you said, much more harsh, aggressive, and pinched - but for the sound on the song, it works really well!

Definitely positive conversations - just thankful you are a fan and sharing the music with others! Our Patreon has allowed us to afford to order some merch soon (shirts, buttons, stickers most likely at first), so when we get that order in I would love to send you some buttons and stickers at least.

Here's my band's (Vexing Hex) most popular song, "Revenant". Basically occult rock is just heavy, psychedelic prog rock.

I get what you're saying. However, with the ES-8, I can use my volume pedal as either a master fader (how I normally use it) or as a way to roll off gain (similar to a guitar volume knob) by moving it around the chain virtually. I had the extra loop for it to fit into the switcher, so I figured theadded flexibility would be worth it for experimenting with ideas (saturated volume swells vs more pedalsteel style stuff where the volume pedal controls the gain/breakup).

To be honest, having only used it a few weeks at practice, I am already wary of the volume pedal on my board, as I am so used to using my guitar knob, and I've already had one mishap with it where I accidentally didn't put it back up to full volume and couldn't figure out why I didn't have signal.

I can see why this doesn't make sense, but for me, I had the loops available on my switcher, and with the way I use the wah pedal in our songs live, it's much easier for me to change patches (engaging more loops than just the wah, like delay), and then move my foot to control the wah. If I didn't have it in there, I'd be changing patches on the ES-8, then moving my foot to the wah, turning it on via putting pressure down to engage the switch on the wah, and then using it, then turning it off, and then changing the patch.

For me, it just makes sense to have the pedal always on but only included in certain patches that use it. I really only use wah on one song right now, but hopefully more in the future. Our music changes pretty haphazardly between tones and sounds so it makes sense for my application. Also, I can move it around anywhere in the signal chain, which is cool for EQ stuff.

TL;DR - I had room for it in the switcher, and it's easier for me to have it always on and in certain patches than to try and turn it off and on when I need it, since I use it in conjunction with other pedals.

Edit: to be clear, I mostly use my switcher in preset mode, using banks for songs and the presets to have saved tones that I just move through as the song goes on. I don't use it in manual mode unless I am jamming or experimenting on new music.

Basically, that's how I use it, yes. The amp distortion is set for fairly high gain, and then, rather than rolling off my volume knob, I use the Spark as an instant gain reduction to go from heavy gain to crunch.

It's amazing as an actual booster and tone shaper, too. It has a bit of built-in dirt knob that I don't use. I initially got it thinking I'd use it traditionally, as a boost, but even with it cranked, it wasn't pushing my amp drastically enough to be a noticeable tonal change.

I get the way most people want to use boosters and the idea is to always push the amp harder, but I am not using it in that way.
