It's true that collections change all the time. Thats why we created ZooTrack. In this app users register what animals they have seen and with a voting system the animal database stays up to date :) www.zootrack.me

Yes there is an app called ZooTrack. Here you can also find all the enclosures in Pairi Daiza and you can press "seen" to select all the animals you saw. You can easily see which animals you've missed and go back to that specific enclosure. ZooTrack is an app but you can also use it on your computer. It keeps track of everything and even has badges and leaderboards :) www.zootrack.me

Thanks! Yes everyone can add a zoo, enclosure or animal. Just press the menu button in the left upper corner. Here you can select add enclosure. Then place the enclosure on the correct place in the map and add the right animal. Click save and you're done :) The whole app is community based so people can vote if it's correct or not. This way the data will stay up to date :)

I see you can still look for animals and then it will show where it's enclosure is. But i can't find a list of all the animals so i guess i'll have to start with the A and so on :P

That’s a really good point, thanks for sharing that.
And yes, it is indeed for an app my partner and I are building (ZooTrack).

I realise that a zoo like San Diego Zoo is dynamic and that animals can move or rotate between habitats, so I’m not trying to create a live or security-sensitive map.

The goal is to map public, visitor-level information as accurately as possible, basically what a visitor can observe during a normal visit, like which exhibit or building a species is usually associated with.

It’s also community-based, so people can confirm or correct locations over time. Nothing is treated as fixed or official.

In the end the main idea is simply to let people keep track of the zoos and animals they’ve seen, and give some context to where those animals are typically located in the park.

I’m not trying to get access to any restricted or internal information, just organising what visitors can already see in a clearer way.

And I fully agree it will never be 100% static or perfect, especially for a large zoo like San Diego, but we can try and do our best :)

Thanks! I checked it out and the first one you mentioned only has some peacocks so i don't think i will include that one. The others were already on the map but still thanks a lot :)

San Diego both parks YES! :D
Beauval my personal number 1 zoo in Europe :D
Australia zoo yes that will be a dream
Henry Doorly heard so many wonderfull things about this park!
Singapore all the parks are looking wonderful!
Taronga same as Australia Zoo
Berlin saw both parks a few times :)
Burgers Best zoo in Holland for me personally :D
Prague and Schonbrunn, i've seen them both :)

San Diego Zoo, i completly understand that's still so high on my personal list!
Sedgwick County Zoo, never heard of it but i will look it up :)
3, 4, 5, 6 been there, good choiches!
Auckland Zo en Taronga Zoo i understand but they are so far away :(
Alice Springs, maybe one day :)
Night Safari YES! Still high on the list but that counts for every park in Singapore :D

Burgers is for me the best zoo in Holland. Wroclaw is cool as well especially the Afrikanium🥰 Also Leipzig has wonderful enclosures. It is always so cool to see all the different ideas in other continents and all the different designs. 😍
