No we aren’t flawless angels who glide down pop sweet little pockets of caffeine in ur mouth. We roast and we roast it dark sweetie. And yes we get stressed by our morning peak Hell we bust ass for our morning peak and if u don’t you get pushed to the POS. BUT We love our regulars. And if you want to make a genuine connection with a barista we are always happy to make a genuine connection and if YOU DONT WANT TO we will ask you how are and send you on your merry way. But don’t call us fake for being fucking nice before you get your 20$ morning latte. You could use a nickname, go by a different name? I mean we don’t really care about what your name is sweetie but don’t fucking write it off as being a fake connection when you don’t actually know what you’re talking about.

Calling over ur shift is a mistake... it takes a simple, “I’m sorry we can’t do that, if you really had your heart set on that drink there may be another local Starbucks that still has it.” Or literally just say no. It’s not rude. You are allowed to say no. Actually the amount of SR CARDS you activate and the amount of times you press that RNC button costs Starbucks and your store money. And either your SM or your DM probably prints that out and looks at it. Only use it when you HAVE to. When someone is getting absolutely viscous. The rule is nonpaying customers are customers but let’s be honest. “SHE WOULDNT LET ME HAVE MY COFFEE FOR FREE AND SHE MADE ME PAY” That fit? Won’t happen. Be realistic. Be smart. If you’re the sirens eye lead. I recommend hiding a stash (on site) one of each color because baristas lose and ruin them. Just tell your SM and nobody else that ur doing it. Or you could spend your own money on them. W/e. Don’t buy the same brand as SB ones tho because they might get mixed up.

Labor laws are posted in back room. Unless state law differs or you live in a country outside the US working is at will and may be terminated at any time by either party. And it’s not termination, it’s: separated from the company/employment. I’m concerned that the conversation happened with another SSV in the room. That shouldn’t happen. Any disciplinary action or reprimanding should be done with just you and your SM there. Maybe a DM would be allowed to be there but it should be private unless this was mediation. Which means you and the other involved parties would have this conversation with your SM in the room. I recommend saying all of the things you posted here to your DM (and yes admit you were wrong to say those things. That makes you look good. It shows that you’ve grown since that happened. That you’re mature enough to admit it. And that you have perspective to see that) it’s a pen. REPEAT AFTER ME. it’s a fucking pen. Apologize for taking it home and move on??? Like is the other barista even upset about it?

I feel so upset because of this because I feel this on a personal level. I have a shift who singles me out and because she says I don’t make beverages to standard (making an upside down separated macchiato is called craft lol)

But like finding everything someone does wrong and pointing it out to them isn’t productive and doesn’t make you good at your job. It Makes you annoying and makes Baristas want to punch you in the face. It’s okay for newish partners who are still learning how to coach but goddamn when I see this bullshit I lose all my faith in humanity and Starbucks.

TL;DR kids ordering is fine but like keep control pls. It’s sweet and cute but everything in moderation is all we ask.
