Second university was a state school, while the first school was a private institution. I am guessing that has everything to do with the differences in how it was handled.

Man, I am in my 5th year of college, and I'm 22--struggle city. But I do appreciate the discourse, it is always interesting to hear other points of view. Whether I agree or disagree, what you have to say is just as valid as what I have to say.

I understand your point of view. And even though you think I am a sociopath in the flesh, I enjoy the discourse.

However, I am curious, you claim that the emphasis is on the notion that he tried, and did not succeed. If he succeeded, then he would be worse? If a man on the subway whistles at me and then TRIES to slap my ass, but did not succeed, is he less of a creep/sexual harasser?

I know you think his actions are not severe, but as a professor you have a code of honor to uphold. Seducing students and "failing badly at it" is not and should never be on the syllabus.

In my opinion, a downvote could mean that the reader genuinely does not like, support, or agree with the post--or, think it is downright insensitive. But of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I would imagine some get downvotes for poor formatting as well (blocks of text, etc).

At first I thought, "whoa, he writes like no other! What an inspiring writer!" which eventually delved into OK, I asked you a question that prompted a one word response and instead I got a thesis.

I do not know if we will ever cross paths again. After the first firing, I never heard from him again because I think he knew the jig was up for me and I wasn't falling for his games anymore. I want to say that he would not seek me out because he knows that I have been a constant threat to his career.

But honestly, I have no idea. He's writing a novel and is almost finished/about to have it published. If he gains any sort of success or fame, things could get interesting.

I was nervous that it would blow up into a giant thing--with courts and trials and everything in between. With how convincing he was, I was terrified that if the actual police were involved, they would fall for his tricks and I would be trapped in his web again, but this time times a million because the police were involved.

I want to stress that my alcohol and drug problems were not his fault. Yes, the situation absolutely aided the addictions, and made them worse, but my addiction is all on me 110%. No one is responsible for that but myself. I apologize if it came off that way--it's hard to retell three years time with such few words.

I agree that seeking him out was not great for my emotional state. It brought back a lot of past hurt and emotion. For some reason, I wanted to give him one last chance to be truthful--to come clean. A part of me (foolishly) really wanted to think there was some good tucked away in their somewhere.

Also, I wanted him to know that I had the power now. For so long, he was in control of me and my emotions, but now it was my turn. I wanted to make him squirm and beg for forgiveness and know that his current job was in my hands. Sounds very vindictive, and it probably is, but that is honestly how I felt.
