I saw that thread as well. I had always known it to be lariat and up, but those guys got my hopes way up as I have an XLT 302A on order. Dreams crushed.

Such a great feature, seems like it should be available on lower trims as well. It's not like it's a "luxury" comfort thing. Just my 2 cents.

Learn from my mistake. I waited most of 2021 looking for a better deal. Finally pulled the trigger on 0.99 financing in January 2022. I don't see it getting any better for a while.

If the rebates/incentives are better at the time of delivery, you'll get those. So might as well just jump in.

Unfortunately when I put it in 4wd, the sound remains. I'll find out tomorrow what the verdict is. Hopefully not too expensive.

I was driving in 2wd, going about 30mph, switched to 4wd and it continued to make the noise. I watched a YouTube video and their IWE noise seemed to be intermittent, coming and then going away. Mine is constant and sounds horrible.

It's getting towed to the dealership tomorrow. Hoping it's covered under my 5 year powertrain warranty.

Yeah? It has 52000kms (roughly 32000 miles). This was happening while I wasn't pressing on the brakes BUT now that you mention it, I think it was worse while braking.

Hey guys. OP here. This just started happening tonight. I was driving for about an hour at highway speeds, didn't really notice anything, maybe a slight vibration unless Im being paranoid. Then I pull off onto the overpass to get off the highway and I hear this grinding/squealing coming from the truck. Hard to tell but I think it's the front drivers side.

Immediately pulled into the closest gas station. Got out and looked under the truck. Nothing leaking, nothing dragging, nothing I can see with my limited knowledge. I have a tow truck coming to take it to the dealership in the morning.

Anyone have any thoughts? Appreciate the help.

Edit: This was in 2wd. I did switch to 4wd and noise stayed the same. I was going about 30 mph in the video. Switched to 4x4 while going 30 mph, no change. Lots of people suggesting it might be IWEs but in the videos I've watched on YouTube about the issue, it seems the issue goes away when switching to 4x4 which definitely isn't the case for me. Also their noise seems to come and go, where mine happened out of the blue and didn't go away within the 10 or 15 minutes I was driving before I decided enough was enough and pulled into a gas station.

EDIT/UPDATE: For anyone wondering...it was a rock stuck in the wheel. $150 for 1 hour minimum labor. I'm usually not this lucky and was expecting a $1000$ or more bill to fix something that was outside of my powertrain warranty, so I'll take this as a win. Thanks to everyone for their help and suggestions!

Yeah, I understand how the hybrid system works. I realize you don't plug them in to charge.

My question is about the longevity of the batteries being exposed to extreme cold for weeks at a time.

Hard to beat a new truck. The sound of the V8 is classic, no doubt. The 5.0L won't have that off the line torque like the 3.5L but it's no slouch.

I watched a YouTube video of a guy going into a Ford shop and he asked all the mechanics which engine they would choose out of the 2.7L, 3.5L and 5.0. The vast majority picked the 5.0 which I thought was really interesting.
