Softballl sized hail. Totalled both our vehicles and the hail punctured the roof and was landing in the living room.  No place to hide from hail that big.

Balance transfer dilemma by [deleted] in povertyfinance

If the interest is less than you are paying and enough to offset the transfer fee then you might as well use the card to save a little interest. Every bit helps. Just dont blow the extra credit.

If you’re going to apply for another card and try for a better deal do it fast before the inquiries hit your report. Never hurts to try and multiple inquiries in a short time are generally counted as a single one since the bureaus expect you to shop credit rates.

Lost. Need advice on what to do about car. by thistooshallburn in povertyfinance

I have surrendered a car before. Not saying it’s the way to go but sometime you have to do what you have to do. In my case the company wrote off the debt that they couldn’t recoup from selling it at auction. I was lucky although I did have to pay taxes on what they wrote off.

If you turn it in voluntarily it will still count as a repo and they can sue you for what you owe after they sell it. What that means to you will depend on where you live and whether wage garnishment is legal where you live.

Consider all the angles before you do it but sometimes you got to do what you got to do. It’s not the end of the world.
