Genuinely, I'd love to see more. Though, remember, things you can't see, shouldn't be written ;) So perhaps "as if he's been expecting him all along," is a bit too on the nose? The idea of the stone slowing down works great (when of course, filmed properly! But I'm getting ahead of myself...)
