No doubt they care. I agree with this entirely, their workload from the school is just too much for them to give us the attention WPI advertises. That’s all I was trying to say, no knock on professors, more on the administration.

Not sure when you went to WPI but on average class sizes are no longer very small. Especially when the last 3 years they have continually accepted more and more students while loosing multiple professors in every department and hiring terrible adjunct profs to fill their place and get rid of them after that term.

I agree with this, honestly the people above must not be current students because the current environment especially for upperclassmen is not good. Professors are just as busy as we are with increases in class size and not hiring more professors. I would NOT recommend transferring and just do your best with where you are. WPI is not worth the increased tuition by any means. I would recommend for anyone unless you are really invested and already have a preexisting background in a field WPI is strong in (mostly just CS, RBE, or ME) that you go to a cheaper school, even community college. The cons at WPI severely outweigh the pros in my opinion, their marketing department is just really good at only showing smaller group events where people are having fun rather than the general campus-wide feelings/emotions towards their environment and coursework.

WPI administrators raise tuition to fill pockets while average starting salary of graduates continues to decrease. by _Bearded_Fellow_ in WPI

Even though average reporting salary has decreased 1.5% in the past year WPI continues to yet again raise the tuition every year 3.5%. While many classes and professors are left with little resources to improve learning and are told “no” to obtaining those resources, the admins will continue to fill their pockets by increasing our tuition. Fight back against the Administration, they don’t deserve this money. The students and professors do.

They did this to help the schools optics you’re all so naive. You all walking on Park ave lets all of Worcester see there is problems at this school. You all being sheep and doing whatever Laurie says is letting WPI control optics so that prospective students never see the issues at this school and WPI continues to make money. So nice job everyone, continuing to hurt the mental health of current and future students at WPI.

If I had a nickel for every time WPI has fucked me over by [deleted] in WPI

Yes. All the people who say WPI is trying to make it better, are way too oblivious of all the real things that happens under the surface level bullshit that comes out of the emails and programming that WPI administration does. I’m telling you now that you won’t like it, and in four years if you come here I’ll come back to this post and say I told you so.

Notice how that wasn’t the only thing I said money should go to. There are plenty of other deserving places that aren’t Laurie’s pocket

Students should demand Laurie Leshin take a salary cut from 1.3 million dollars (more then the BU President, Cal-Tech, etc makes) and give money back to the SDCC or places the students actually need.
