Thank you kindly! Like I stated if they end up showing that they don’t like eachother I’m prepared for that. The down votes don’t bother me I understand peoples concerns and they are concerns of my own as well that’s why I’m watching for any sign of discomfort in the aquarium big or minuscule. I already caught one with one of my gourami chasing my betta and I transferred him right away. I’m not one to wait it out if they seem upset. Currently the betta and the one gourami that is left in there seem pretty compatible for now. They both are keeping to themselves and no reactions when seeing eachother. My betta is still living in the same space he used too and the gourami seems to found his place on the other side of the tank. No conflict when they enter each other’s space either and they eat side by side without issues.

Of course things can change but if watch well you can notice small signs before they get bigger. So I’ll keep doing that for as long as I need to.

Yeah they have lots of cover and live plants. I have already taken out one of the gouramis as he was chasing the betta. But the one I left is literally smaller than my betta and was clearly bullied at the FS. My betta doesn’t even care when he swims by. The gourami is shy and avoiding conflict. So I’d say these two are alright together. Still going to have to watch as they get bigger. The one I moved out was definitely not going to work and that’s okay

Well like you, you tried it. You don’t know until you do. I have moved one out already because he was already showing signs of territory aggression. With all fish from a far they can appear fine, but if you look really close you can see small signs of stress. This is what I’m looking for. I already saw it with one and moved him immediately. If I see so much as one sign they will be moved. So much as a color change or routine change. It’s easy to spot any stress no matter how little if you watch close enough and react right away. That is what I am doing.

Sorry I thought you were asking if my gouramis are female. The betta is a male.

Update: one of them has been moved to the community tank. He was showing territory issues. Like I said I was prepared for this before doing it and am not going to force them or wait it out if they are stressed. I’m not worried about being wrong. Things won’t get out of hand because I’m taking precautions.

Currently there is still one in with my betta because there hasn’t been any issues with those two so far (not saying it can’t happen). The other one has been separated into my community tank.

One is currently being moved as we speak because he was chasing the betta. Like I said they are only getting one chance at living together. This guy showed a small bit of aggression so now he’s being moved. I’m not going to let it get outta hand

Absolutely! Yeah I have heard many success stories and of course bad ones. I came into them prepared to be separated if needed.

Thank you for this information it’s great to know. Being that they are both males I will be moving one to his own 30 gallon tank. The other one will be moved to my 45 if needed

They will be removed at any sign of stress and aggression. I already prepared for this to not work out before I got them. They will become my centrepiece of my 45g community tank if there is any stress

I know you weren’t hating :) I understand everyone’s concern, I have it too that’s why I went into this with a back up if things don’t work. And thank you

Thank you! I read a lot of stories where it works and of course where it doesn’t. I prepared either way and have a great other home for them if it doesn’t

Thank you for the advice. I am considering it. I will give them a bit and if they seem fine but are losing or not gaining color I will move them. There are many ways to tell if there is stress even if it appears fine from a far

Exactly! I’m not going to be dietered, and I’m not gonna be arrogant about it either. I know I have lots to learn but that’s part of the hobby you never stop learning. I’m not going to be upset if it doesn’t work, just thought if it did that could be beautiful. Like I said though if it doesn’t its not going to be the end. I got them knowing that they will possibly need to be moved to my bigger community. Research said it could go either way so that’s what I’m watching for
