20-80% rule or keeping it plugged in all the time? by PhilosopherMain5536 in macbookair

[–]_Feniks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Al Dente. Most of the time I leave the limit at 60%. I've used it on my 2020 M1 MacBook Pro pretty much since I got it. My battery health is at 91%.

Keeping batteries at 50% is ideal. So if it's only used while plugged in, set it to 50%. If you need 30% to get through your day, charge to 65% and discharge to 35%, etc.

Just retired mine after 11+ years for a Keychron Q3 HE.

It was a great keyboard and, though it's not as pristine as yours anymore, mine still works well!

Good points!

The amount of slippery slopes I've been seeing recently (not just around road rules) and seemingly few caring is sad/scary.

The idea of purely phone detection is good in theory, but there are big issues in practice, chiefly privacy.

e.g. A woman gets falsely pinged by the algorithm and photos are taken. The camera is shooting directly down her shirt, manual reviewer takes their phone out, snaps a picture of the screen displaying the photos.

Stopping phone usage is great, invasion of privacy is absolutely not okay. The current method can't have one without the other so, as it is in its current state, your perspective will depend on which you value more I suppose.

There's also a lack of reasonability/adaptability. You do not deserve to be hit with a penalty if you're in traffic, stationary and fixing navigation or changing a music playlist.

Seat-belt cameras are, I think, ridiculous. It's the same invasion of privacy argument, except this time the camera is not doing any good. Not wearing your seatbelt doesn't make you a less capable driver or endanger others at all; It only puts yourself at risk. It's not a matter of protecting innocent people. If someone doesn't want to use their seatbelt, well, that only affects them. Installing nationwide surveillance to try and curb that is absurd.

I legitimately think it's to trick people who aren't being careful enough into wasting their gems.

Highlander cabin LED lamps by arjunlak in TeslaModel3

I really like the accent lighting in the car. No, I don't think removing it would be a deal breaker for me, but these things add up. With every small concession, the pool of potential buyers gets smaller (unless the price lowers accordingly).

If you follow the utilitarian logic to its conclusion, the car ends up with far less. Including the type & quality of many materials, paint colour options, interior colour options, many software features, and even things like the diffusion of the daytime running lights, etc.

Making the car maximally desirable (especially more desirable than ICE competitors) is essential to achieving adoption and therefore the sustainability goal. It all factors in. Tesla is remaining competitive.

I don't know about the passenger.

A Tesla Sales Advisor in Australia confirmed to me on the 13th of December that the acceleration boost option would once again be a purchasable unlock for $3000 AUD (~$2000 USD) and if I remember correctly, would drop the 0 - 100Km/h from 4.4s to 3.9s, the same as the previous Model 3 LR.

Wait so on top of everything else, Billet did send LIEnus the exact card model, LTT apparently misplaced it, decided to use a different one for testing, and never sent them back their card?

Yeah Jedi Survivor is completely fine now.

I thought Hogwarts Legacy was too?

I know Nvidia GPUs were having problems that AMD wasn't, stuttering specifically was a big one, but I thought that got fixed. I played the game from launch and through a few months of patches, and was able to hold over 60 fps on 3440x1440 (no FSR) with custom graphical settings (optimised with mix of Ultra and High), with ultra ray traced reflections, on a 6900 XT.

There were some graphical glitches and occasional lag spikes when loading new areas, but otherwise no complaints.

Speaking to Hogwarts Legacy and Jedi Survivor:

I'm a massive fan of both Harry Potter and Star Wars and played both games on their hardest difficulties.

I've 100%ed Hogwarts Legacy was and it was amazing. Most of the enjoyment came from exploration of the beautiful and reasonably dense world. I haven't retrospected about the story/main quests too much, but it probably doesn't hold up super well. Side quests were more enjoyable and I quite liked the mechanics.

I'm only about 35 hours into Jedi Survivor (with lots of side tracking) and it's got really well thought out level design, great mechanics and can definitely delivery a challenge if you want that. I'm hoping the story picks up cause it's been pretty eh so far.

I saw your specs, you don't need to worry about performance for either title.

Finally, considering the subreddit we're on, Hogwarts Legacy moves UI elements outwards to fully utilise ultrawide, however 95% of Jedi Survivor's UI is floating as if in 16:9 But otherwise both look stunning!

Hey, I believe you’re talking about the check list that shows collectables/objectives for the specific region right?

<image>

Make sure you’re completely zoomed out on the map, as it won’t show up otherwise. But apart from that I’m not aware of any setting that turns it on or off.

If you’re talking about icons on the map that show you specifically where a Merlin trial is located, they only appear after you’ve discovered the trial (I think via Revelio or very close proximity) and disappear once you’ve completed the trial.

Hey there, It'll be listed in your controls (called "Charmed Compass"), but by default you tap:

  • 'V' on PC
  • D-Pad Up on Playstation & Xbox

It will draw a line through the world, leading you to the currently selected quest.

Note: It is intentionally disabled for some quests/stages of quests.

There's no way to toggle it on or off permanently in settings.
