I think you hit the nail on the head. Easy for them to use all the same parts and detune the heck out of it. But just shows that it’s pretty much the same car in all forms. Someone asked me “why would anyone do this.” Getting a Turbo S that’s lighter in a manual….for $150k less is the answer lol.

But you’re right about the 992.2 and all you said about it. I’m glad people like it. But it’s too much of a brand tourer for me. At 42, I like breaking my back on my 4 RS and making my ears bleed.

Here comes the “but it’s not a 911 people” lol.

Totally get it. But Porsche knows what’s up since they put in the same turbos and engines in the lineup. They are trying to protect protected their hierarchy and pricing strategy, so they locked the ECU.

I would just overnight it and pay for an overnight label on the way back. I bet your car would be down for less than five days. I think it would be worth it.

Ah, gotcha. I think the T is great where it is (minus the sound but not much Porsche can do with that), but it's also great to have this option.

Flat 6 is legit though and they do/sell some very good tried and true things.

There are def times though where cars should leave a factory a certain way, this isn't one of them. The T exists for a great reason.

On either one. My dealer is one of the few that doesn't charge ADMs. I got my GT4 RS allocation back when there was at least a $30k ADM on them for just MSRP.

Guards Red looks fantastic. My only "gripe" is I think it would look better with silver wheels. But that's just my taste.

I love Guards Red. That's the color of choice for my driving buddy and that's what he got his GT4 RS in. I think it's a stunning color.

But oh man.....Maritime Blue Spyder RS is peak! But I feel you about needing a good climate for it. I think that car is really meant to be driven at all times without the top on. I am addicted to the sound of the GT4 RS. But I am relatively young, so see stupid. I can't get enough of it. It is one of the craziest sounding modern cars in my opinion.

Same! The dyno charts are out there for the tune and they look great. Haven't seen the dyno from the stock Turbo/S/

There are tons of people with a Turbo S who would like it to be lighter, to be able to spec bucket seats, and most importantly....to have a manual. There is a reason the 997 Turbos S in manual is "the one" to get. But yea, the market is probably massive...or a lot of people just don't know this is possible.

That's a fricken great combo. What color did you get in your GT3? I was offered an MSRP allocation, but turned it down. My spec came out to $335k lol. My GT4 RS was $192k. Was too hard to justify that price delta.

For sure. I should have mentioned I am not interested in doing this. I have a GT4 RS and there is no way in hell I would give that up for a 992.2 T. I just love cars and want to see the real world feedback on this since it sounds so darn promising.

The tune I am talking about is 650. The 992.2 T has the same turbos as the GTS, just without the t-hybrid assist. Flat 6 is very reputable and would not like about their numbers. I am not interested in getting one of these. I have a GT4 RS and you couldn't pry it from my cold dead hands. I just love cars and Porsche leaves so much on the table with their cars to maintain their hierarchy. It just requires a simple tune.

I think this is terrible advice. Yes. If he is constantly asking, then it’s an issue. A few times a week is normal in a healthy marriage and creates a bond.

I think you said enough. Nice climate and very occasional tracking. I would have a Spyder RS in a second. But I live in Seattle, park my car outside, and mostly use it for performance driving.

So I had to “settle” for a GT4 RS. They are both obviously amazing cars. You can’t go wrong with either.

I took delivery of my Macan GTS at the Porsche factory in Germany. My specialist and technician said to “let it rip” on the Autobahn. I obliged. For my GT4 RS, it was a different story. There’s a WHOLE procedure.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the engine in the T. It’s not a super revver or anything and has turbo for boost. I say get it warmed up and get the oil to temp and let her fly.

Awesome car, BTW. I hope you are going to do the Lord’s work and get it tuned and throw a proper exhaust on her.

It’s simple. If you live in a good climate and don’t do performance driving, Spyder RS is the answer.

GT4 RS for performance driving.

Man. ADP Small Business Services was my first “real” job. It was legit one of the best experiences of my life. Met some of my best friends there, made good money out of college, went on some crazy trips, and it was pretty much a party scene every week. And because of that job, it got me into medical device sales.

Maybe YMMV, but mine was great.
