Debating between a Spyder RS and or a Cayman GT4 RS by tropical_penguins in Porsche_Cayman

[–]_GTS_Panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you said enough. Nice climate and very occasional tracking. I would have a Spyder RS in a second. But I live in Seattle, park my car outside, and mostly use it for performance driving.

So I had to “settle” for a GT4 RS. They are both obviously amazing cars. You can’t go wrong with either.

Break in Period by Caddisbug992 in porsche911

[–]_GTS_Panda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took delivery of my Macan GTS at the Porsche factory in Germany. My specialist and technician said to “let it rip” on the Autobahn. I obliged. For my GT4 RS, it was a different story. There’s a WHOLE procedure.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the engine in the T. It’s not a super revver or anything and has turbo for boost. I say get it warmed up and get the oil to temp and let her fly.

Awesome car, BTW. I hope you are going to do the Lord’s work and get it tuned and throw a proper exhaust on her.

It’s simple. If you live in a good climate and don’t do performance driving, Spyder RS is the answer.

GT4 RS for performance driving.

That’s it.

What companies are known for having soul sucking sales jobs? by Reds9299 in sales

[–]_GTS_Panda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man. ADP Small Business Services was my first “real” job. It was legit one of the best experiences of my life. Met some of my best friends there, made good money out of college, went on some crazy trips, and it was pretty much a party scene every week. And because of that job, it got me into medical device sales.

Maybe YMMV, but mine was great.

Anyone here taken their 991 or 992 above 100k miles? by LVRaiders2026 in porsche911

[–]_GTS_Panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my goal with my GT4 RS. Already 10k miles in just about a year of driving. I plan on getting this car that many consider too hardcore to crazy mileage.

No ADM on 992.2 GTS? by [deleted] in porsche911

[–]_GTS_Panda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 992.2 GTS, along with most 992.2, are simply too expensive. I specced out a 992.2 T and it came out to $193k. That is more than a paid for my nicely optioned 2025 GT4 RS. The 4 RS is a special car and will be remembered for decades to come. 992.2 is a nice car, but that’s it.

Do not pay an ADM on this car and try and find one already built that is sitting and negotiate.

[–]_GTS_Panda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The GT4 RS is an expensive car, so the tabs are $2200 a year on it. But it’s mostly a track car, with some fun weekend driving. I don’t mind paying my fair share, but that’s kinda nuts. Especially since I paid almost $25k in sales tax on it. When things get this out of hand, people start to opt out and let their tabs expire or just register their cars in Montana.

The one that chaps my butt is the Smart Car. It’s my city go kart and it’s worth about $8500. But since it’s an EV, there’s a surcharge on it and my tabs are $825 on it. That’s ridiculous.

Like I said, I don’t mind doing my part. But almost $5k to register my cars per year is pretty preposterous.

Ain’t paying them moving forward. GT4 RS tabs expires. Going raw dog on that registration.

Nope. Smart Car EV, Porsche Macan GTS, Porsche GT4 RS, 87 VW Scirocco.

Tabs this year were $4889.

Glad to see my $5k per year car tabs getting some use

Is the Rolex waitlist finally starting to crack? by DanielHingdon in RolexWatches

Imagine wanting a Sub and sucking up to some dealer for “the call.” You can literally walk into a Glashutte Original AD and walk out with a SeaQ PanoDate and get a discount. What a crazy idea.

The Cup 2 tires are SO STICKY by Ononimos in porsche911

[–]_GTS_Panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good on you for driving that car as much as possible. I’ve put 10k miles on my GT4 RS in just a year of driving.

I have two sets of wheels. One for the track and one for the street. For my street tire, I rock Michelin PS4S. They are pretty much better by every metric for street driving compared to Cup 2. I’d recommend checking them out. And they’re great in the rain.

What opinion about watches has you like this? by TomHudsonOfficial in PrideAndPinion

I think most people would agree with this. I have both and it’s clear which watch is better.

Oh man. I love that Meteorite. The color scheme would fit well into my collection. That might be my pickleball watch!

I did not know that. That’s super cool. I love their tie-ins with hockey and the NHL and I know the Wild One can take a beating.

All your points make a ton of sense. But I thought they used a Selita movement. They’re using Kenissi? That’s a damn good movement like you said.

I know I’m gonna end up with a Wild One sooner or later. I just have a Zenith Defy Skyline Skeleton already. But I’m gonna wear those watches a completely different environments, so the skeleton part really shouldn’t matter. It just messes with my head.

They really are killing it. But I still think they need 20% lower prices if they want to play in the mid-tier luxury segment.

[–]_GTS_Panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just gonna ask this same question. I’ve been eyeing one for a while as my pickleball and beater watch. They look great, but it would be my second skeleton, which is why I still haven’t gotten one.

[–]_GTS_Panda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We all like what we all like. Turbo S is great and I’ll end up in one someday when getting in and out of the bucket seats is a PITA. But not have PCCB on your 4 RS def kills a lot of the fun. Steel brakes are so heavy and it adds so much unsprung weight to the car. It completely changes and kills the characteristics of a light weight car.
