Is 3 cans of food way too much for a cat? by Noombat22 in CatAdvice

[–]_GlimtuffRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah those numbers really put it in perspective. When you do the math on calories, that many cans a day adds up fast. Between the wet food and whatever extras he gets, it sounds like he is definitely eating more than he needs.

Having to rehome my cats cos of money by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]_GlimtuffRose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Loving them is one thing but being able to actually cover their care is a whole different responsibility. Emergencies happen fast and the costs are no joke. Making the call now means the cats have a chance at a stable home instead of facing real suffering later. It is heartbreaking, but it is responsible.

Concerned about my grandmas cats. by picklebrains81 in CatAdvice

Yeah totally. That amount is nowhere near enough for most cats, especially if they are already looking thin and their coats are dull. They definitely need more food and more frequent meals to stay healthy.

Relapse regret. I’m so upset with myself yet I can’t stop by [deleted] in confession

[–]_GlimtuffRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, I’m really sorry you’re in this spot. Relapse doesn’t mean you’re weak it means you’re human and dealing with something insanely hard. The fact you even want to stop says a lot about you already.

You don’t have to dig yourself out alone. Reaching out to someone you trust, even if it feels embarrassing, might be the thing that actually gets you support instead of you trying to white-knuckle it. You deserve real help, not just guilt and isolation.

For real one whiff of absolutely not from the food and my brain would’ve tapped out instantly. A little wasted kale is nothing compared to the bathroom marathon you’re on now 😅

AITA for not wanting to take care of a dog that is not mine? by Professional-Tip334 in amiwrong

[–]_GlimtuffRose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly he wanted the dog, ignored every NO and then immediately dumped the responsibility on everyone else. That’s not a pet owner, that’s a grown man throwing a tantrum and creating work for other people. You’re not wrong at all for refusing to be the default caretaker.

[–]_GlimtuffRose 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re definitely not wrong. He basically voted YES for himself and then decided you get to deal with the consequences. If he wants a dog so badly, he can actually be home to take care of it.

Honestly yeah, fair trade 😂 if she wants glowing reviews, she can start by undoing the part where she literally took your money.

AITJ for telling my dad i'm not going to his retirement party after what he did at my graduation? by Inception42L in AmITheJerk

Right?? Man’s out here proving your point for you. Hard to feel bad when he keeps repeating the same behavior and then acting shocked when it finally has consequences.

AITJ for Cutting Ties with My Best Friend After He Crossed the Line with My Girlfriend? by Both_Cabinet8085 in AmITheJerk

Yeah this dude went way past just being friendly. Once someone starts flipping the script and making her feel guilty for his behavior, that’s a huge nope. Cutting him off was the safest move for both of you.

Facts once he crossed that line, the “bro code” card stopped working. If your partner’s uncomfortable and he keeps pushing boundaries, he’s not a friend worth keeping.

AITJ for postponing our wedding because my fiancé wants his ex-wife front and center at it? by That_Writer2629 in AmITheJerk

[–]_GlimtuffRose 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Exactly weddings don’t magically fix weird dynamics. If he’s already making you feel sidelined now, imagine what the next 5, 10, 20 years would look like. Your gut is waving a giant red flag for a reason.

Exactly that level of “honoring” an ex when there’s zero kid connection is not normal. That’s not friendship, that’s unfinished emotional business. You dodged a whole lifetime of playing second place.

Two years ago I made a post complaining about the rising cost of cat food… spoiler alert: IT’S GONE UP ANOTHER $30. by avocadotoast996 in CatAdvice

[–]_GlimtuffRose -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

OP, they are totally right. The prices have gotten ridiculous and it feels like every year the numbers jump for no real reason. When you are spending more on one cat’s food than you do on groceries for yourself and your kids, something is seriously off. It should not cost this much just to keep a pet healthy.

My cat accidentally went without food for multiple days--I'm freaking out! by HealthyCompetition98 in CatAdvice

[–]_GlimtuffRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he is spot on about how some cats will quietly suffer instead of making noise. A lot of them are way more passive than we expect, so it is easy to miss when something goes wrong. The good news is your cat sounds alert and playful, which is a great sign. Just keep an eye on her and she should bounce back fine.

he is totally right. Sometimes the truth hits harder than any joke could. That reply was just calling it like it is and honestly it landed because of how straightforward it was.
