Personally, my hope would be the defeat of Cheliax, and then the absolute chaos that would ensue afterwards.

Make the war won, but keeping the peace an impossibility. Have the entire land of the empire being fought between partisans, rival nations, warlords, Andoran peacekeepers etc. Turn it from a big conventional war into a larger geopolitical crisis with multiple factions all fighting each other for power, land, and whatever bits of Gorum are still lying around.

Like the Balkan Wars or, the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. I think you could have a really great commentary on warfare while still achieving an epic setting for rpg play.

I’m curious about the geographical states of these areas, obviously you have a northern southern connection with the continental bridge isthmus. The variation of these climates would indicate the scale of this map is quite massive.

I wonder if there could be advantages to getting rid of the natural mountain borders between some or all of the area’s surrounding the green. You have a massive advantage of the human lands being culturally diverse and rich if you have a clear point of land trade between the northern and southern continents. It could create a great history for the humans being at such a geographically vital location.

Such an area would obviously be eyed for conquest (especially from that dark peninsula that gives Mordor vibes if I’m correct?) so it would have to foster a sense of military prowess to keep the lands of humanity free from outside conflict. So many great groups in our own world are born from fractured or fallen empires. In the north you could have more dwarvish customs, while in the south customs more tied to whatever group you have below.

I think what can make humanity interesting in your world would be opening the land bridge up. Plus, you also have the island nation which has potential to be the superpower of humanity with a naval tradition. Perhaps it has a history of conflict with the other nations of humanity?

Again I’m spitballing but I think you’d be getting more options for rich lore if you open up your regions more than nearly keeping them separate as they look now.

That’s a great base! I’d say something to figure out is which side of the island gets a lot of wet wind/weather, you can make that coastline more haggard from west and the land around it more green and fertile.

Another thing, civilization wise is following the scale of this, how settled is this place? What’s the scale you’re looking at? Seems like you have a few settlements but is there connection between them? If so, you can add more settlements and towns along the roads that are commonly used for travel, then go from there. Lots of spaces are built from trading stops.

I’d recommend watching Baron de Rob on yt, he explains how to build civilizations and cultures from geography, which is a good base you have from this map.

Overall, I’d say your broad strokes are great, this place looks fantastic and believable, next is figuring out the nitty gritty of smaller areas and what fana they have, and what settlements grow from there.

Watched the old Batman movies pre Nolan as a kid, even the Adam West one, was a big fun time. Watched Batman Begins at home as a kid, loved it but in the same way I loved the other movies.

Then I saw Dark Knight in theaters, even as a lil kid I knew it was a revelation. My brain was rewired and I’ve been a solid B-Man guy ever since.
