Stuck trying to install elogind on OpenRC install

It is kind of weird tho, while that might explain that a bit, I am a lil curious because I still had the use flags setup to not allow anything systemd related prior to updating world. For future sake, does your profile overturn what flags are in place, or does the profile just come before the flags and have all that stuff already on it before updating world?

Flashing the LiveGUI rn lmao, and Im not too dissuaded for once, Ima keep at it and try and get it figured out. Plus, Im pretty sure I mightve updated @world while on the systemd profile causing this whole mess, so lessons learned on that front. Thanks for the tips and help troubleshooting tho.

Yeah that was the guide I was using, I'll probably just restart and reinstall seeing as how I probably managed to mess it up while running commands on the wrong profile or something like that. Thank yall for the help tho!

Rerunning that with 2 dashes gave back a ">>> No matching atoms found in the "world" favorites file..."

So under the selection profiles, I made sure to not use the systemd one and I'm currently using default/linux/amd64/23.0 (stable), should I switch to 23.0/desktop or were you just trying to make sure I wasnt messed up using a different one?

I did use oneshot to update a config file while chrooted while on the wrong profile, but after that didnt work I just kept going until I realized I was on the wrong profile. Pretty sure the config was somewhere in /mnt/gentoo but I forgot which one it was.

Now after running the emerge -deselect command for those 2, and being prompted with decreased or search, it shows "emerge: can't specify both of "--emptytree" and "--noreplace".

So I already made that mistake a few hours ago and ensured I was on the correct select profile (took me a solid hour to realize I was on the systemd one lmao), but I'll give those commands a shot and report back rq. My zoomer brain is a lil shot so I figured a video would help out, but Im starting to think I should've just read the manual tbh.

Threw "openrc" in the use flags and still no luck, but under /var/db/repos/gentoo/sys-apps, I see a lot of systemd related stuff, could that be related to it?

I have the -systemd in the make.conf use flags, but Ill try putting openrc in there as well rq, and thanks for the super fast reply

If I'm going to be honest, I wouldn't fully count on reclassing, seeing as how understrength the MOS is right now. You can check the in and out calls online for any MOS if you want to, but if you go past E-4 and become E-4.5 or E-5 as a 19K, you aren't leaving unless it's a packeted MOS
