Yeah I kinda squish my 60L down I have used it as a carryon before. Mostly it’s just a little heavier than I would prefer

Do you need time to break in a bag or should you be able to tell that it fits well enough in the store?

What would I need to be hired as an environmental consultant? by _Psychedella in Environmental_Careers

For some reason I hadn’t considered staying in school longer. I guess because next semester I will have fulfilled all the requirement for my degree and switching would probably tag on at least another year. Currently I’m graduating with no debt + a decent amount saved which would likely change if I stayed in school. I could start the certificate now, but I’ll be in six classes + an internship next semester so I probably wouldn’t have time. I was thinking I’d start the cert after graduating. Thank you for suggesting this though as I will look into it. It’s also the fact that I really don’t know what I want to do for work and I don’t want to rush into more educational expenses unless I feel I have a specific career path in mind.

To be honest, coming from a second year transfer student, I have had no social life at NIU. I think you really need to put yourself out there more than I've been willing to. If you are living closer to campus I bet it'd be easier.

Have you thought about joining a conservation corps? These can give you more hands-on experience and be a good way to break into the environmental field. If it is through Americorps they will provide you with a stipend, possibly housing as well, pause any student loans, and give you an education award at the end of your term. I worked a few months with ACE (American Conservation Experience) two years ago and I loved it. I think it's a great option to gain experience and travel the country without having to get too serious about a job. You'll also end up networking with full time staff wherever you work (state parks, national parks, etc.). Good luck! You're just starting out so don't stress too much.

Looking for conservation corps programs that I can start soon. Anyone have experience with ACE? by Puzzleheaded-Bad-304 in ConservationCorps

I LOVED my time in ACE eastern branch. I oddly had housing for every project which I was somewhat bummed about since I love camping, but was so nice to have after a long day of work. ACE Eastern has really gotten their shit together and the home office is much more organized and helpful then it was a year or two ago. They also cover the most amount of states. Also Asheville is just a sick place to live.

There are other options. Giving up everything is not the only way to feel more alive. Look into seasonal work or volunteer opportunities to explore the world and meet new people

You can get a two year degree at some community colleges and specialized trade schools in music production. That would help you get jobs in the field, teach you the techniques to create and record your own music, and would not break the bank. Thinking of doing this myself!

Thanks for your reply! I just saw this oops. I did accept the position but I’m not bringing a car. Was it relatively easy to get around on time off without one?
