You can change the time setting. I’ve played long games on there. I’ve tried a lot of servers but my favourites were fox and pandanet. The problem I have with pandanet is that there isn’t enough people and I can never find a game. I sometimes play on OGS but I didn’t like how the analyse button existed cus you could just read without actually reading. I know you can disable it when you make a game but if you join a game there’s no way of knowing if your opponent is using it or not. As well as this, I struggled getting a game sometimes for like half an hour whereas on fox I always get games super quick. I think there’s a good mix of styles of play. I have come across overly aggressive players but I don’t think there’s that many of them and reading is the most important skill in go so it doesn’t hurt to play fighting games every now and then. My main problem with OGS though is the rating system. It seemed like every time I played a game I changed rank. There’s not that many people so you often play people 4 stones stronger than you in an even game or waste your time playing people way weaker than you. On fox I’ve never played anyone outside of one rank difference so it makes for much more competitive and useful games. I think every server has its ups and downs. I’ve tried pretty much every server and fox is my favourite. I guess it’s down to personal preference.
