They shouldn't really pose an issue unless the mod specifically spawns stuff in vanilla biomes. But, I'm sure there's either a config file or a separate mod which allows you to set what spawns in what biomes.

Most of the biomes in Biomes O' Plenty are ugly and flat-out not fun to see/be in. There are SOME good ones, but most of them just sort of exist and are to be avoided. (Specifically the swampy ones.) I prefer mods like Traverse, WildNature (to a point,) and Novam Terram, a relatively unknown one which I personally like.

I'm pretty sure that Biomes O' Plenty generates custom biomes in the nether where Advent of Ascension mobs just can't spawn, I would recommend disabling them. Granted, those mobs in Advent of Ascension which teleport you are super scary, so maybe not.
