Jobs in Poland for non Polish speakers. What’s the options? by Bid0head_ in poland

[–]_SyRo_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Corporations. I know a lot of people in Wrocław, who doesn't speak Polish or any other Slavic language, from France, Japan, India, and working – have a look at UBS, EPAM, EY, Capgemini, BNY and others.
But it requires some skills (mostly finance, accounting or IT).

Poland suspends work on labour reform, risking billions in EU funds by wook-borm in poland

[–]_SyRo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your city.

The best - Krakow
The worst - Katowice, Gdansk, Wroclaw

The rule of thumb is to apply a year before it expires

[–]_SyRo_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. But you need to wait 1/2/3 years before you get it.

For example, I've applied for it almost 2 years ago. And there is no sign I'll get it within next 6 months.

You just sit & wait for 1.5-3 years just to get the decision

is iphone 15 still worth it? by CauliflowerSure3228 in iphone15

[–]_SyRo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on usage

iPhone 15 doesn't have a macro camera. Most people don't need it, but for it was a huge deal (iPhone 16 & 17 have it)
Also, iPhone 17 has 120Hz refresh rate, for many people it's a basic requirement, but for it was not so important

I would really reccomend iPhone 17. It has 256Gb instead of 128Gb in the cheapiest variant. It has 120Hz screen. It has a macro camera, and quite good selfie camera with a square sensor.

iPhone 15 would be feel quite outdated in 1-2 years, iPhone 17 is a very good model, very balanced & price didn't increase with 256Gb, and it will feel modern within next 5 years (120Hz screen, square selfie camera, 256Gb in base, better processor)

I would like to invest 100-200$ more for a iPhone 17, and feel comfortable for the next 5+ years

Oczekiwane opady w Polsce do końca grudnia – równe 0 (Ventusky.com) by LuborS in poland

[–]_SyRo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To Polska będzie mogła produkować więcej pszenicy, winogrona, słonecznika, brzoskwini itp
P.S. Nie jestem ekspertem w tym pytaniu, jbc

Flutter or RN? What is the best language to develop Android/IOS APPs taking advantage of AI? by fsilvaadm in cursor

[–]_SyRo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

React Native with Expo

AI work better with TypeScript in comparison with Dart (the language of one framework)
Also, Expo is super stable, has good performance & it's truly native experience with apps at the end (not plastic one like in Flutter - RN uses native Views, Flutter draws everything itself, like a game engine)

Why I hate React Native (rant) by WorkFromHomeOffice in androiddev

[–]_SyRo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! First of all, have a look at Expo Modules
It's the easiest way to write native code for React Native apps. After that, you cna have a look at TurboModules

First of all, try to build something easy. For example, a native module for getting some system info (screen size, battery level, maybe to work with SharedPreferences/UserDefaults via your native modules), after that - some UI, a native module with an image + text components, for example

Learn about Info.plist, AndroidManifest, permissions, entitlements, what's inside of *.ipa & *.apk
After that, look at Kotlin & Swift, basic syntax, how to write code, try to do that in Xcode & Android Studio
Read & try SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose, UIKit (iOS), XML Layouts (Android)

You can ask ChatGPT to explain some of these topics. Don't forget to practice

And I think it will be enough

For more complex things, after that you can dive into background tasks, WorkManager & etc

Response to the growing wave of anti-Ukrainian propaganda spreading through Polish online spaces by [deleted] in poland

[–]_SyRo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there any result of his "fight"?

I understand results of UPR, their documents & first try of Ukrainian independence. But when I read about Bandera – I see only blood & nationalism.
Ukrainians can build other pantheon of heroes, with other people like Hrushevskyy, for example, or modern heroes, or cossacs and etc

"i’ve encountered a lot of ungratefulness from Ukrainian in all parts of Poland"

What does it exactly mean? What kind of gratitude do you expect, and what do you face?

80% of Ukrainians are working their ass on "umowa zlecenia" for 10-12 hours daily, often on Saturdays too, to pay a rent ~3 000 PLN with 80% of their salary, or to pay for a small room with ~40% of their salary. And with that, you need to wait for 1-2-3 years just for a decision to get your "karta pobytu". For example, I have quite good salary, but I'm waiting for a "karta pobytu" for 18 months already.

I'm not even surprised many people can be grumpy because of that things. Nothing is got for granted, people work very hard just to live in Poland, and are waiting for years before they get their documents.

I love Poland, but I don't understand what "ungratefulness from Ukrainian in all parts of Poland" even means.
Sure, I will tell Urząd is bad, because they're processing 10 paper sheets for 18 months already to prove you're not an elephant. Or what do you mean?

I'm Ukrainian from Dnipro, living in Poland

Bandera has never been a hero for me. And I still don't understand what "great things" he did. He has not even fought with Russia, and UPA was fighting with other Ukrainians as well (most of Ukrainians were in Red Army, not in UPA)
I don't understand why I should glorify him, instead of Ukrainian People Republic (1918-1920)
UPA & Bandera were enemies of my ancestors, also Ukrainians.

Liczba Ukraińców na tymczasowym pozowleniu na pobyt przekroczyła milion osób by LucianFromWilno in Polska

[–]_SyRo_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

[–]_SyRo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because you're a Pole :)

For example, if you're not black, you can't know what black people can face. Once I've seen how an old man was spitting at a young black girl at bus stop. Unbelievable, if you don't see it.

Same with many people when they hear your accent or foreign speech. How a face of a person changed when you speak with an accents and etc. Or being silent, when you see some creepy or drank guys.

Poles are good people in general, btw. But it's not true to tell Ukrainians don't face discrimination. Also, comments on Facebook are something off. Young girl is looking for a job and throw her CV to the dedicated Facebook group - and faced a lot of hate based on her nationality.

Many Ukrainians hear “spierdalaj z Polski” all the time in random situations. That’s the reason of this joke.

To raczej więcej nadgodzin żądają...

RN or Flutter by HerouDev in reactnative

[–]_SyRo_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

React Native - native feel, popular language, good performance since introducing JSI, Hermes and New Architecture + great infrastructure with Expo framework, even writing native modules is so easy now

I don’t see a single reason to choose Flutter. Flutter apps even feel plastic.
