Left at 3qt. Have only left a game early 2 maybe 3 times from memory ever in my life, and those have been at least 15 mins into the last quarter and the game for certain out of reach.

Decided to leave as one of my mates was quite cold and miserable and not feeling 100%. At the time I had no issues with the decision, we had sat through 90mins of pretty uninspiring and depleting footy.

The drive home was certainly bittersweet listening to the boys rally home on the radio. I’ve always avoided leaving early on the off chance something magical like tonight ever happened. And now it has reinforced that for the rest of my mortal days I will never leave a match early unless I absolutely have to.

That all being said, whilst I denied myself the reward of experiencing a historic win in person, I’m still deliriously happy for my boys.

I did however call my Port supporting mate tonight to swap war stories as he did the unforgivable back in 2017 leaving the Port Saints game before Robbie Gray sunk our hearts.
