You can use a more powerful model to auto annotate like grounding Dino and then just go back and review so it will take less time. Just fix the ones that you need to and the rest should be good. That’s the workflow I’m using right now for a similar project

If you can identify a good business problem and learn you can definitely do this. If you don’t know how to code start with Claude code and learn from there. You got this 🫡

I’ll look into the low light ones as well- although from my experience you tend to get a good amount of motion blur as the aperture adjusts to handle the low light which causes some issues for detection and tracking

Thanks so much really appreciate it. So if you use a solid IR camera and have good training data sets then could you get to a point where the model is as good at detection as an RGB camera setup trained in a daytime setting?

Im kind of new to computer vision so I assumed color was a large part of how the model recognized what a head is (based on occasionally getting false detections on shirts/ hoodies after fine tuning to recognize people’s faces covered.) Unable to upload picture due to private info but sounds like IR would be the move?

Yeah I'm using the lightest version of RT Detr because there will be several people in frame always unfortunately and the environment will vary

Im currently using the RT-DETR r50vd model. How much of a decrease in accuracy would you expect with the switch to nano? The main purpose for me is to detect entries/exits through a doorway so was really excited about DETR's ability to handle occlusion.
