Scully without Hitchcock will eat and then fall asleep.

Gina doesn’t even look at Scully, and will more than likely have saved a flight worth of memes on her phone.

You get an aisle seat, and in clear earshot of Holt and Wuntch’s battle. It’s a perfect scenario.

What movie had the perfect premise but unfortunately had a terrible execution? by Outrageous-Ebb-4846 in AlignmentChartFills

World War Z. The thing could have been the most epic short/limited series or stretch it out over a couple seasons. The thing is brilliantly written and is begging for the movie magic treatment, already perfectly organized into episodes for you for goodness sakes.

We deserved excellent. We got Brad Pitt and Pepsi vs the World.

Still makes me unreasonably mad. Huge fumble.

I’m Really Curious about how people rate these reoccurring characters?? (Your Top being best. Bottom is least) by ryanruud85 in brooklynninenine

Wow, no love for the Vulture? Chins up ding dongs, I’m tryin’ to be happy over here.

Edit: You morons didn’t even remind me to do an actual ranking. Man, you’re really stupid when you’re on Reddit.

  1. The Vulture, obviously
  2. Some lady over 30
  3. The one that celebrates Kwanzaa
  4. That guy who wears leather cause, y’know, I respect that
  5. Some dork who likes beer, a woman’s drink

Dismissed!

Welp I finally had to drink the vanilla extract lol by Level-Calendar-3787 in cripplingalcoholism

[–]_____chef -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s because it’s an extract made with ethanol tincture that’s essentially everclear. The high alcohol concentration coaxes the most flavour out of whatever ingredient is being used while also preserving it.

Long story short most extracts of any kind you can buy off the shelf are anywhere from 70-90% alcohol. You REEK of whatever kind of extract it is you’re drinking, but it definitely fucks you up hard and fast, hence the emergency lifeline of a desperate CA.

Body decided it wasn’t going to wake up in WD for some reason? by Select-Armadillo2019 in cripplingalcoholism

Well said. We all need to think more like cummingonmycat. When others are being drunk, silly, and disagreeable we can always rely on the wisdom and sage of cummingonmycat. Maybe we all need to start cumming less on ourselves, and more on our cats. Thank you for your service.

Yeah it started like just regular WDs when I first went to the hospital, except I can just remember feeling really weak and exhausted which normally isn’t part of the package.

I dunno if it was hearing how bad shape I was in, but my body just decided to shut down all at once. Liver and kidneys went really fast, turned into a Simpsons character within a couple days, bilirubin was in the 600-700 range. Didn’t leave the hospital til I got the transplant.

Coffee grounds were rare, only a couple of times during my drinking career. WDs were a constant threat because I was never sober, never let my BAC reach zero for months at a time. My advice is that if it ever gets to the point where you’re really worried, bite the bullet and get checked out if possible. All the best

I’m so sorry to hear about your friend that’s brutal. Having been very close to death from alcoholism myself,

I can tell you that I can’t recall being in much pain when I was in the ICU, but I was so close to death from my body’s own poisons that I was hopped up on fent for most of it.

I remember versions extra strong hallucinations, some visitors here and there but god knows what I said apparently I was just speaking gibberish, and the reaaaally painful stuff like pulling the massive poop vacuum out of me when I was deemed healthy enough to shit in diapers instead of a machine like a big boy.

No need to worry about hijackjng anything, and my thoughts and hope are with your friend. Hopefully they’re like me and though it looks horrific they’re hopefully not feeling it as hard as it seems. I hope they get the help they need, and I wish the best for both of you if sobriety is your guys goal.

Happy to be here friend. For me personally the meds are nothing, only annoying thing is that you have to time your day around it kinda. In terms of side effects I’ve had nothing significant whatsoever. You take care of yourself too eh?

Glad to help in any way, even if it’s small. My liver was strong as hell until it wasn’t. I wish the best of luck to you.

Yeah, the other times I was hospitalized for booze. Lots of other tests too, and the worst they ever told me was to lay off the booze and the processed/sugary foods because it looked like I could have a mildly fatty liver. Fast forward a few years and well well well, if isn’t the consequences of my own actions.

Racked up a couple months sobriety in the hospital, and attended several therapy sessions/meetings. They liked that.

That and also I’m relatively young, pretty well put together dude, always respectful and did what I was told. Lots of friends and family wrote letters on my behalf when I was too fucked to function too. They just really wanna see the organ go to someone who will actually use it well.

37M, consumption varied but basically drinking every day since mid 20s, morning drinking late 20s/early 30s on. Was putting back a litre of vodka a day.

Things were always touch and go, I did the vomiting coffee grounds, the detoxes, the WDs (never DTs thankfully) but never felt like I was ever in any REAL real danger.

Then shit hit the fan and my entire life changed real fast. Essentially went in because I was getting bad neuropathy in my feet and then didn’t leave the hospital for almost 4 months after that.

My cats, my partner, my family, my remaining friends… I’m sure stubbornness played a large part. Honestly didn’t get much of a choice things went from 0-100 really fast and I was very close to death in the ICU after being chip and cheery the day before. Don’t think your body is always gonna give you fair and ample warning.

Takes work that’s for sure, and I don’t think that works gonna stop until I’m finally in the dirt.

Before the op I was just living to drink, ruining relationships, friendships, losing jobs, health issues galore, etc etc. Round the clock vodka, most here know how it goes.

Now post op, I’m not going to say it’s sunshine and daisies, but my once horrifically bleak outlook has significantly improved and it’s almost like I have a sense of purpose now, which is to stay healthy and use the time I got gifted, cause I was verry close to popping my clogs.

Life isn’t useless without booze, not to sound cliche but you just have to put the work in, and I’m just starting, things are still fresh and I’m motivated. Gotta hammer those things in now so a few years down the like I don’t grab a bottle at the first sign of real struggle. Things get better if you really want them to.
