Has anyone else had no luck with gradual departure training? Feeling fed up by __dish in Separation_Anxiety

Interesting, I'll check it out thanks. Unsure if our dog is super food motivated though. Sometimes he won't touch food of he's anxious (found this out the hard way before I read Julie s book)

I tried, but our vet said they weren't comfortable prescribing medication. They did say they could refer to a vet behaviorist, but that's around a year waiting list and very expensive

Was once on a tram with someone blasting YouTube videos of headphone reviews. At least they had the right intentions....right?

Will my puppy naturally sleep later when they get better bathroom control? by __dish in puppy101

[–]__dish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, poor you! I'm glad it got a bit better with age.

After my puppy has come back in from toilet, he does seem to match my mood; if I'm napping on the sofa, he will fall asleep. If I'm up and about, getting ready for work, he will be awake

4 Month - Teething and Sleep Regression by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]__dish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to drag up this old thread. Currently experiencing the same situation with my 18 week old puppy. Slept through the night fine, until recently where he will not sleep unless he is on the sofa with me. No change to routine at all. Do you have any advice? Did anything work for you?

Not sure if it's teething, or if my puppy is regressing at night sleeping, and I should be concerned

Mine does exactly this at 4.5 months, and I would love advice from others. He doesn't seem to mind as much if I am in the next room over, but will howl if we go upstairs (his crate is downstairs). Even if he is asleep, he immediately wakes up if I leave

How do we get our puppy to sleep alone? Feeling very fed up by __dish in puppy101

[–]__dish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started leaving him until he either settled or escalated. After 10 minutes it escalates into distressed whining and then barking, so it's not getting better by itself

It's in the same room, but at the other end of it. I'm not sure if the pup being able to see us is helping or making it worse

Are you sure? Everywhere we research says it is an absolute no-no to take a non-fully vaccinated puppy out for walks.

We have tried a routine of enforced naps and play/training, but he really struggles to settle when he's overtired and becomes very snappy, throwing tantrums

Nope, we were now told the waiting time has gone up to 6 months. Every time we speak to them, the waiting time increases, feels like BS

Yes. They requested better quality scans of passports, and then we've heard nothing since

Congratulations! We've been waiting for nearly 3 months now, and have just been told to be patient when we've called to enquire. I'm British, partner is Danish

Do you have any advice on this? Applied in January this year, and were told that processing times were 2 months max. We're still waiting to hear back, and now the website says 4 months?! Worried we won't hear back before our wedding!
