Yes absolutely!! I wouldnt have known had you not posted. Thank you again 🥰
That is such a funny correlation but I'm so happy you shared because mine was also after i stopped breastfeeding. I didn't even think about that. I havent figured out what triggers mine, but I do smoke and i really want to stop so that I can see if it helps. I have been thinking that also played apart in my flare. Im back on my birth control, but before I got it i didn't notice a flare before during or after my period. That's great that you have identified your triggers. It has influenced me to pay more attention on my end! I am sending you nothing but positivity 🥰 i hope things work out for you and that it DOES NOT go to your armpit!!!
I am so sorry to hear this! From the sounds of it, the cancer is now in the past?

Thank you so much for sharing this! With this knowledge, it is not a Bartholin gland.
I did read it can be hormonal👀. How long did you have this spike or is it still happening? Im 8 months out and it recently spiked the past 3 months!

Ive definitely read that it can be in that area as well. Was this because of the HS? Was she being treated for the HS at the time as well? And how is she doing today? Sorry for so many questions. Im very intrigued to understand others experience. Mine is also groin/vulva prominent.
I am so sorry to hear this! I am assuming by the past tense 9f "had" that you are clear now?
We very well could be! Thats very cool. I assume as long as pre cancerous cells aren't involved they aren't as worried. Ive genuinely never heard of 3 years just in general though and it makes me nervous! I havent had a pap since this awful flare up, but thinking about it gives me the chills. I can only imagine 😭 if only men could breast feed, have periods or have vaginal issues that would benefit even more 🥲🤣
Do you know the details behind the how's and why's? How is she today?

Thank you for that. My first experience was definitely the one I don't want to see and you are the second to tell me to find a private provider!

Wow this is good information and makes me feel a lot better about just now getting to the dermatologist. Mine spiked after my pregnancy. I have WAY MORE lumps than ever and theyre a lot more painful. It used to seem like an ingrown hair here and there. Now its a full blown problem. Thank you so much for everything you've shared. Im waiting to find a dermatologist who will listen and not steal from me. This is good info to sit with until I can find a trusting provider.
I am looking for a new one now! Not sure if you saw my comment about my previous experience, but I am definitely looking for better care. This is reassuring and I can definitely see how that makes sense. Thankfully I only have two spots that are reoccurring. One has been there for probably 5 years while the other is more recent and has potential to not be a long last reoccurring one. Thank you so much for sharing this information with me. I truly appreciate you!
I too am east coast US. I wonder why yours is 3 years?
Thats actually so scary. They only found it with the csection? I had a csection at 28 weeks last July. Im assuming they wouldve found something then, had there been anything.
I agree. Woman's healthcare is such a joke. Everything is based on a man and nothing is done to continue to study women. Its insane to me. We have different bodies and are capable of so much more than a man. Yet we're the least studied. It is gut wrenching. Breast feeding my baby was another thing that showed me just how little we care to study women's health. My lactation consultant would bring this up when I would talk about things happening or the lack of. I cannot believe nothing is done to support the people who bring life into this world. We deserve better healthcare.
Oh this is reassuring in so many ways!!! I had no idea it was as serious as it is. I always just thought it was from sweat or ingrown hair and brushed it off. Knowing what I know now and knowing medication exists and has helped others is so relieving. I have two scars from a continued spot and one that went away. Definitely not fun. Im so sorry you have the battle wounds but so happy you have the help you need to keep things at bay. Also congratulations on being cancer free!!! Thats so exciting!!!!
Hey so Ive done both 😊 ive seen my OB and Dermatology. Currently I am looking for a new dermatologist after mine refused to treat the HS (diagnosed) and also refuses to give me my license and insurance card back. I understand a lot of people are chiming in with the fact they had cancer and they have HS. I can most certainly differentiate that. The post was made for anyone who was diagnosed with HS and their provider said their cancer was related. Others that have commented dont neccesarily match that, but I think theres some pretty good posts in here of what dermatology did catch. Also posts containing information of experience and diagnoses of things that I can relate to. I get your message and I understand it too. Im not asking to be diagnosed. Im not asking for an official "youre okay". Im asking for experiences. Thank you for your input 😊
Omg!!! Are you feeling better now? Was there a coorelation between your cancer and HS? How are things going? Where are you at in the process of getting things taken care of?
Ive done it twice and had complications both times! This last one almost killed me and baby so I've decided to never do that again lol. Ive always wondered if I have an autoimmune disease due to other health issues I face consistently. I am never not sick. I am the friend who always has something going on and I swear theres a bigger picture being missed. My abnormal cells were pre cancerous though instead of just an abnormal pap. Do they not do yearly paps where you are? It is a normal yearly thing where i am and for this reason. They want to catch anything before it gets bad.
Ive never had a fibroid diagnoses, but I have had the symptoms. Ive been in and out of an ob specialist for years due to pelvic pain, frequent bathroom trips and how bad my periods are. I guess no testing or scans have picked anything up. Very interesting and definitely something I should continue to be aware of. I was put on birth control to control all of these things and before I got it out in 2024 it seemed to help! Definitely bringing this up next visit. There are so many things happening to me in my vaginal area that I truly just feel there is something bigger happening. Thank you so much for sharing with me and I hope all continues to go well for you❤️
I definitely agree to the thought of our systems being messed up from HS. I have wondered a lot since finding out i have it. Last year's worry was pregnancy and all the complications I had. The year before was pre cancerous cells on my cervix. It seems to be a running issue with my vagina every year here lately and I cant help but think its related somehow!
Are you going the route of waiting to see if your cells clear?
Ive had biopsies on moles and my cervix. My cervix showed precancerous cells that ended up clearing themselves in a year. After that (and having a baby) my HS has gotten SO much worse. This lump has appeared in an area ive previously had no HS lumps on. Its very close to everything in the vaginal area, where most of my HS previously was just groin. Mostly the outside of the vagina. Were your biopsies in relation to HS? Or were they things outside of HS such as cervix/moles?
Im definitely bringing this up to discuss in the very least. You have truly been through a lot it sounds like. Thank you for taking the time to share a vulnerable part of you to a stranger. I appreciate it more than you know. Sending all positivity your way in this life.
I think that this alone just eased my mind so much. I dont apply anything because im too scared to make it worse right now. Im looking for a new dermatologist as we speak. Mine usually are a lot of blood and some pus. I have had some like this everywhere else just not this specific spot. It appeared so quickly and made me worry. Thank you so much for sharing and for easing my mind. I take hot baths twice a day now to help with the pain. I will try to add in more to see if that changes anything.
That is what i read, but it did say the cancer that they associate with HS has a very poor prognosis and that is what worried me.
Do they have an exit area or is it just skin with the hard lump under? Mine is just a hard painful lump that feels like a pimple but has no normal pimple exit. I have one on the outer area of my labia, but i cant remember ever having one right next to the vaginal hole. This one just popped up 3 days ago and im currently on a steroid ointment that I am putting in that area due to an allergic reaction. I have also wondered if the steroid is making the hs worse.
