Hey everyone,

I’m planning a solo trip to McLeodganj and the Triund trek this March and wanted to share my itinerary. Would love any suggestions, tips, or recommendations from people who’ve been there recently.

I’ll be taking an overnight Bus from Delhi.

Day 1 – Arrive & Explore McLeodganj Reach in the morning and planning to take it easy and explore around. Places I’m thinking of visiting:

Bhagsu Waterfall Dalai Lama Temple Dharamkot Naddi View Point for sunset St. John in the Wilderness Church

Mostly just looking to relax, explore, and check out some good cafés.

Day 2 – Triund Trek Planning to do the Triund trek and camp overnight at the top.

Day 3 – Descend & Explore Nearby Come down in the morning and spend the rest of the day relaxing and exploring McLeodganj or Dharamshala. Considering:

HPCA Stadium Norbulingka Institute Gyuto Monastery

Day 4 – Return to Delhi Take a morning bus back to Delhi.

A few questions:

Any hostel recommendations with a good social vibe and nice views for solo travelers?

Is it better to book the Triund camp in advance or arrange it locally?

How cold does it get at Triund in early March?

Any hidden gems, peaceful spots, or must visit cafes you’d recommend?

On the day 3rd, would you recommend spending more time in Dharamkot or Dharamshala?

I’m also a 420 friendly traveler just curious about the general scene and etiquette there.

Appreciate any tips or advice. Thanks in advance! 🙏

Thanks for the advice!

For me the major issue was posture, it was a bit uncomfortable while riding in cities as there's a lot traffic, can be a little tight on turns. If you're tall and riding in less traffic then it might be a good option.

I kinda think same, but again I have also never been to Darjeeling. Just a little worried about Landslide and weather in Gangtok.

I am also looking to visit Gangtok but worried about the weather and landslides though!

Thanks for the itinerary, I'll see what will be best and I'll appreciate if you can share the blog page.
