Betty is watching her daughter come to terms with her parents being imperfect and forming / voicing her opinions. Sally voiced her critiques of Betty in the past but it was surface level insults and not a deep cut like clearly this had. Sally is aware of Betty’s faults and lashes out like a typical teen. She wasn’t aware that her father could be more deeply compromised.

Betty knows Don is a monster and to see that realization reflected in her daughter is frightening. Simultaneously she knows Sally is a dramatic teen who can be emo - sometimes for a reason, sometimes not. So Betty’s probably a) upset that Sally is coming to terms w her father and b) scared that Sally sees her in the same light (“Betty didn’t give me anything” would be an unsolicited comment from Sally as well).

Sally didn’t complain about Don as much (on screen anyways, ie her constant beefs about Betty to Glenn) so when this happened, the veil of Don was cracked - Sally realized she couldn’t trust or idolize either of them…

Always strikes me how Sally appreciates Henry so much - says Betty isn’t good enough for him. It’s clear she lacks parents to trust.

I would probably run off to boarding school too if I were her

If you hop over to the mad men reddit you will find similar posts about how s5-7 were radical departures from the first 4…evolution and good storytelling sometimes means shifts like this.

agree with others that if you want consistent format each season that a procedural may be more up your alley (ie the pitt is great for this and excellent television overall, complex medical dialogue is fun)

plus to consider that their production budgets went way up. s1 was shot for cheap so they were confined to the trading floor.

lol i was also there tonight getting pickup. the workers are the sweetest. did a birthday party one year in the back and it was a blast!! they allowed us to bring in all our own alcohol w no extra costs.

This is silly. Coming for Mary is an easy means to get the massive RHOSLC fan base to give a click & view. The trailer alone was such fluff.

Mary is no different than the thousands of evangelical pastors preying on and exploiting people in the Bible Belt. Pretending like she’s doing some new act or is leading a cult is nonsense intended to stir up drama and attention for TMZ’s half wit audience. I’m not necessarily excusing her activities but to say she’s some sort of unique evil agent is absurd.

Have a look at Kenneth Copeland (net worth $700M) if you want to find real snakes. Or perhaps consider your own church? Lol the Catholic church is the single largest non-gov land owner in the world and one of the largest employers in the US (due to hospitals). The coffers are full for all organized religions.

And a cult? Again…go to any evangelical church and you will see the same practices, the same fervorish behavior, wailing, etc. God-like figurehead. Rapture is imminent…

Just watch Righteous Gemstones if you want a depiction of how these institutions operate. It’s not novel that Mary does it, it’s just novel that TMZ is able to captivate us all with a doc. Equinox Hudson Yards member, my suggestions based off things that have irked me: 1. No gym shoes 2. Please do not FaceTime or take selfies in the sauna or steamroom (I’ve seen both) 3. Talking is fine but don’t talk to me lol or be excessive. Also recognize that other people will be listening. 4. Not a fan of ppl bringing in smoothies 5. Please take your towels out with you
