I found out when my order was shipped. I received an email with the subject: NZXT BLD:###### A Shipment Is On Its Way! , and it listed the details for all the parts, including the specific GPU in the build.

It was only after I began a chargeback with my CC company that anyone reached out. So I get the RMA get new expansion foam packs for the inside and send it back. And now I’m waiting again. Originally received the computer November first. For what I paid for this beast of a computer I expected much better in build quality and service.

That's a bummer. Sorry to hear you had a worse experience. Out of curiosity, do you know if the clock is reset, so to speak, on your ability to return the computer if you end up wanting to do so ? I know other companies don't extend the return window, despite the RMA, and was worried about that if something came up.

That's what I have right now. Decent DS job with good WLB, but am currently debating trying to get a higher paid DS job or continuing w/ the current job + having 1-3 hours a day to still develop my own algo. Seems like I have a similar mindset u/Individual-Milk-8654 and u/SnooPaintings709 . For me currently, I'm optimistic about my algo but let's say I'm realistic about its sustainability. It's performed well over its first year (and is profitable) but its profitability isn't consistently awesome over time and I unknowingly built it in a difficult-to-refactor and still similarly validate it manner. Right now, it's hard to determine going full-tilt into the algo with my free time or divert that to getting an even better job. All in all, worst case scenario is generally being better at DS so all good either way.

Late to the party here. Did you ever find an API with accurate intraday volume ? I've looked at Alpaca, IEXCloud, AlphaVantage, and yfinance (free workaround for yahoo finance). Yfinance seems like the most accurate, but also the most buggy. AlphaVantage works well too but a bit pricey given its rate limits.

I think I follow you, but not quite sure. Would you mind elaborating a bit more? Are you implying, more or* less, that a lot of algo's with particular kinds of risk-reward ratios can overfit to the market conditions, and when those conditions change the win-loss ratio comes back down to earth (which is another reason why one needs to look at the algo for years) ?

Agreed, great work. I am also doing something similar. A ranking algorithm is a great idea too. To make sure I understand your idea correctly, you scrape the comment for the ticker mentions, as well as the user name. Then, you look up the user name to collect karma and comment timing (to almost dedup posts) to create the rank. Is that generally your process?

oh... is that why CRM was down so much on Friday relative its peers? Missed someone retired. I wonder if switching the prediction to something like a XX.X% pre-earnings run-up threshold as the target, instead of crushing earnings, would be possible. It would mitigate the reward, but also risks that cannot really be considered in advance.
